Here is a bloke that has terrific leg speed and a massive engine to go with it. Accepted that he is injured but IMO opinion this guy was totally under used by CC and always seemed a bits and pieces player from the bench.

I think he should have been played on the wing full time and encouraged to break the lines with his pace and running ability. Never seemed to happen.

What do others think, is he in our best 22 and where should he be played?

I would say still play him off the bench, do what was done with Drum and Duff last week, just use him as an impact player in the second half of quarters UNTIL he gets some confidence back up and is prepared to run and break the lines again. Fitness shouldnt be a problem, should have been running a lot, but will need to get his confidence levels right back up in order to have a big impact as he did circa 2006.

peaky is ,with his pedigree and his legspeed is one of my first selected everyweek, imo his run and his attacks into the foreward 50 were a big part of our run home last rear and his absence from the team is one of the reasons we havent been able to finish off sides this year

I wouldn't say CC underused Peake. He played 20 games last year and I don't remember him spending any more time than you'd expect on the bench during our run. And he's been pretty much injured this year. One player I did think CC underused (when selected) was Webster. It'll be interesting to see if Harvey rates him or not.

brett peake is my favourite fremantle player, he is an absolute gun, wen at full strenth he brings so much to our side, yes i think he should be played throught the midfield and not just off the bench,

will be a player that we need to hang on to, player of our future:thumbsu:

lets see if harvey rates him, if he is fit that is.......he is an outside player, hopefully can add a few more strings to his bow by getting dirty when its his turn

But if he's in there getting dirty, who's running past on the burst for him to get the ball out to? Hase?

fair call BUT in any footy game there is always a time where its "your turn" hopefully he goes in when he has to. perhaps it was coaches instruction perhaps not.....we shall see

thats you opinion, i am saying he is played as an outside player because that is his strength, but at times we all have to put our head over the ball and get crunched or be at the bottom of the pack. i don't recall him doing that too often, whether he was told not to or he was shying away from it is the question.

Got to agree. I don't know if CC didn't rate him, but when dinosaurs like Matty Carr kept getting a game you just had to wonder why Peake was getting a game every week.

Peake in no way shape or form can do what Matty Carr is in the side to do.

Why you would compare the two for their purposes is indicative of your level of understanding footy.

Yes i think even Peake would struggle to shank that many kicks, be that slow and manage to give his opponent that much space when playing as a "run with" player. Because that is apparantly what M Carr is in the team to do.

Have you seen M. Carr lately?? IMO deserves his spot at the moment.

Peake is over-rated.

You must be new around here. According to some, there are "outside" players in team, who are under strict instructions NEVER to go for the ball, as they are there to deliver the ball "lace out" to our forwards.
