Only came on to say how awesome Peake and McQalter were.

Both stood up and made some game breaking plays!

Onya boys!

Also I see the skeletor thing lol

It really hit hard when Bruce said in his excited voice, 'Peake, soooo important tonight.'

So pleased. The best part is I get the impression he's a good bloke too, which makes his playing in the side as opposed to "he who shall not be named" even better.

Yeah, but Bwooce also said "that a cute kick" during the commentary :o

He was fantastic on Fri night. I had some reservations about how he'd handle the intensity and he took to it like a duck to water. His use of the football was fantastic and I'm pretty sure he recorded his longest left foot kick of the year, albeit to a Cat in the goalsquare.

Any footage of him just miraculously coming out of that pack with the footy? Seriously, whathe? Sneakey Peakey indeed!

More than happy having him on the list. He was very good as the sub against Geelong.

19 possessions for Sandy on the weekend - not our worst.

Many of the later 2009 draftees have done _uck-all. Remember that our selections just 12 & 16 picks above #48 (traded for Peake) are no longer at the club.

Barring his shockers in the two GFs, Peake was pretty good last year. Certainly worth picking up with a late draft pick.

I think he's going to find it more difficult to get a spot from now on though with Lyon looking to give our kids more opportunities. Will still be a handy back up player.

Whilst he only had an OK game in the VFL last week, I did see him kick on his left side for the first time - a perfectly good 40m pass under some pressure. I had a double-take reaction.

Makes me wonder why he doesn't back himself more often. Polo seems at the opposite end where he wants to kick on his left frequently but isn't that good at it!

That's the thing about Peake, he has the ability and skill to be a very good player but he just lacks confidence in himself.

He showed what he could do last year in that final against Geelong where he was close to BOG and also the prelim against the Dogs where he was also very good but then unfortunately the bad unconfident Peake showed up in the two GFs.

I still think he can play a role for us but the hard part is knowing which Peake will turn up.

Peake shut up all the haters again today, well for one week at least.

Worked hard all day and was one of our best along with Montagna. That goal in the third quarter when they combined with a couple of great long kicks was our best passage of play all day and came at a crucial time. Also helped seal the win in the last quarter with an assist to Cripps and then a goal himself.

Not sure if that performance is enough to save his career at the Saints but he has definitely earned his spot again for next week.

Time will tell as to whether Indigenous Round played any part, but he is capable and provided run when others were struggling. 9 contested possessions (21 in total with 86% efficiency) with the score assists was a strong performance.

Completely agree - strong game, won contests and created goals - some major egg on face dished out :thumbsu:

spot on.

He was very lucky with his goal, almost played on, did play on almost slipped, other guy slipped, "oh hey I can now kick with my right!" and I must confess to giggling a little.

Played a very solid game though, still knows how to get out of traffic with seeming ease.

I couldn't believe some of the comments around here before the match. Give the guy a chance. Luckily, he performed and shut the haters up. Very impressed today.

The main person having a go at Peake was the utility, and nobody takes him seriously.

Peake was awesome today. Loved having him there, and I worry if Gram will get back after Peake's performance.

peakey was excellent today offensively and defensively (rare for a saints player to manage both lately). i got a real thrill when he ran down jurrah.

hes such an enigma. i reckon hes had a dozen or so saints game when ive thought jeez this guy is a really good player. then there have probably been a dozen when i think. jeez whats this guy doing out there.

when his brain is switched on and his intensity is up no question he can play. maybe they need to give him an electric jolt pre game or something to get his brain switched on.

He was the same at Freo, played some brilliant games early on in his career and I thought this guy is going to be a star. He was a bit like Fyfe and Hill are now at Freo, tipped to be a superstar.

For some reason he stagnated at the end of his time at Freo and lost confidence but there is still a very good footballer there. It's a lot between the ears with Peake, when he is confident and has his attitude right he can be borderline elite but when he is down on confidence he can have a shocker.

I think on the whole we have got more good games out of him than bad games but he gets judged a lot more harshly for his bad games than say a Goddard or Riewoldt would.
