Re: Respect for brett ratten

I agree. Something is very wrong at the club. As a supporter I'm sick of being let down by this playing group these past 5-6 weeks.

Re: Respect for brett ratten

Get Ayres from Port Melbourne. Actually get anyone I don't give a **** anymore.

I HATE THE CFC

Get Ayres........

Re: Respect for brett ratten

This is devastating... Top 4 or bust was the expectation, lose this and we won't make the 8.

Re: Respect for brett ratten

Get rid of Ratten is beyond question. But that wont be the only answer. From the MC (AJ getting a game???) and the recruiting department. Lets get some hard men in the club. Just look at Richmond last night against the Saints. That is the way we should be playing.

Re: Respect for brett ratten

Ratten is a good bloke and a reasonable coach. He's not the bloke to take this list further tho. You blokes need to throw the kitchen sink at malthouse for 2013 ASAP

Re: Respect for brett ratten

Ratten sets a terrible standard! He tells us that we were good against melbourne, and gws. Players think that's the way to play and accept that crap.

Look at our young players! They may become good players but Watson is the slowest man I've ever seen. Bootsms I like but getting a game at afl level with that body tells the story of Carlton.

Judd is no pendlebury. Goes missing way to often.

The list goes on and on.

And guess what, I still think with the rift coach we can win a flag, but ratten is a poor coach

When will enough be enough? Something has to give!!!

This will be closed most likely, however a simple post could not convey my frustration after watching that deplorable half of footy...

Ratten's game has been found out. Even a side that has serious midfield/contested/clearance issues has killed us.

Every decent side has injuries similar to ours and are able to keep it together enough against the bottom tier sides.

Our forward structure is NON-existent and the biggest joke of the night has been watching Bower try and have an impact when it is clear he has no place in the side at present.

We look complacent, coaching staff and throughout the team... well either that or the ones in charge aren't capable of proactive, innovative decisions in order to adapt and progress in adversity...

So what to do? The dream of top 4 is hanging by a thread... Top 8 may look shaky with the run ahead of us...

I know it's been done to death, but as a staunch Ratts fan I'm now unfortunately starting to believe we may need a change of ideas in the box... We have a good list and I feel it could be wasted... I mean would you look at the way the Bombers have turned it all around with Hird, such a proactive approach and their talent is nowhere near ours...

I know we won't sack Ratts mid-year and tbh I wouldn't agree with that... But what are we gonna do? Seriously, morale is so low...

Sorry to take up space, but I feel better for the vent regardless of if this is locked or not.

Sack ratten

Wtf is this shit, ****ing hell boys lift your game.
This hurts more than anything

Re: Respect for brett ratten

Ratts has been hit with the loss of too many players in a competition where no team is an easy beat anymore...the game has gone back to old school - hard at it footie - CFC just doesn't have the team for what is required or a game plan to suit it ..

I feel sorry for him - he is a nice bloke- but CFC isnt a 'nice' Club - we liek to win. Ratts has developed us to a point where we have flat lined. CFC cuture is up or out.

A lot of players have played themselves out of the Club since Collingwood game.

Time to go Ratts

PLEASE CFC make the tough call and get rid of Ratts,

He's been a great Carlton player but his coaching days should end.

He's either lost the players or they aren't getting the message because we are an embarressment.

Time to throw the kitchen sink at Malthouse,

And as for our recruiting thats just been laughable.

Re: Respect for brett ratten

He has 4 weeks to get the players back on side...

He has dodge a bullet because Melbourne have won so tomorrows papers will be all about Neeld...

The clock is ticking.....

Spot on first par. however I fear your name describes Ratt's coaching ability

Collingwood and WC have also been hit hard with injuries but they have managed to carry on regardless. Its what good teams do. A good coach shuffles things around, where Ratts doesnt even seem to have a game day plan B.

The club has pretty much said top 4 or see you later. Well it is obvious to blind Freddie that we are far from it. A new coach needs to come in now so that he can

1. Prepare the team to suit his new game plan(s)

2. Have a good look at which players he wants to keep or trade.

3. Let certain players see if they want to be involved with the new coach/style.

4. Try and make the most of the second half of the season.

5. Sort out his coaching staff.

I would hate to do this after the season ends where everything will be rushed and before you know it its round 6 2013 and we are talking about getting used to new coach etc:

Re: Respect for brett ratten

We cannot continue to make excuses with Injuries, sure we have our fair share, but we lost to a bottom 4 team by 10goals, too many players have gone backwards this year, the team is playing without committment/character/willingness to work hard, basic fundamentals of any successful team.

Suspect that both the list and the coach will be under serious review, with our draw the next month, we could quite easily be 6-8.

Re: Respect for brett ratten

Ratten looked a man devoid of answers tonite

This belting by a bottom eight side had been on the cards

Ratten hasn't been able to respond to the opposition shutting us down

The club have made poor recruiting decisions. Too many skinny types and flankers instead of true onballers

The club have made poor list mmnet decisions. Letting Sauce and Grigg go

Santas helpers masked deeper problems

Reality is our depth are D Graders and we have a reactionary coach incapable of innovation and trend setting and a club who have made significant list mnment and recruiting errors

If they're fair dinkum they'll get Roos, cut 10-12 players and fill the gaps with experienced players like Syd have over the journey

If they don't then they waste Judd

Tough decisions need to be made but I'm worried the boys club of Sticks and Macca won't won't to burn their pal Ratts

Problem with CFC is too many CFC people at the top

Re: Respect for brett ratten

We have injuries but we also have poor depth bec of poor recruitment and list management

Should never have let Grigg go. He was in our best midfield when we let him go. He might have wanted more money than he was worth but club should have looks at bigger picture

Club have been completely and utterly negligent

Ratten and Hughes should get the sack at the very least

Re: Respect for brett ratten

i respect ratten as a former champ,b&f winner premiership player, former skipper, but as a coach i just cant stomach him.
hes a follower not an innovator

Name me some current coaches with innovative game styles?

Re: Respect for brett ratten

i've seen people defend ratten but rip into the players, and they probably feel self-satisfied at offering up their defence in the name of loyalty...? it doesn't make any sense. but most of all it doesn't do anyone any favours to just ignore a coaches role. there's nothing wrong with investigating and then coming to a conclusion.

With Roos and Malthouse hovering, if the board don't think Ratts is as good as them, then it would be perfect timing - I too am a bit of a ruthless bastard ;)
