Any of you 'Pro Brexiters' on here care to give me a single good thing that its done for people in the UK that justified the massive cost, crippling increase in poverty, increased foreign (non-EU) migration, stopping Brits from freely living and working in Europe, wrecking supply chains and many industries, and leaving the Union ripe for dissolution?

Like... just one good thing that justifies the above. I'll settle for one.
what pro brexiter? I think there was only ever one and he has fled the thread (and the site - can't even tag him anymore)

There's a national delusion over there because it's not just politicians who are culpable for this mess, they were acting on the instructions of the majority and nobody wants to own what's happened.

Germany are nearing their own Brexit-stupidity-coalition.

In the midst of a recession, they're going with the tried-and-true blame it on the immigrants line, and the AfD (Alternative for Deutschland) party are polling around 20%. Many see them as a continuation of the Nazis.

Seems like a lot of European nations are going through this phase. Thankfully France, UK and others have already grown out of it (UK likely to change direction after next election.

The Nazis themselves were a product of (among other things) the great depression and Germans being 'sick of the rest of Europe telling us what to do' re the impositions placed on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles.

Recessions and economic depressions usually lead to people either lending their ears to revolutionary causes (Socialism) or reactionary ones (Fascism).

True. Let's not forget the communist party only narrowly lost the 1933 vote to the Nazi party.

After ~15 years of taking the reactionary side and being consistently wrong on pretty much every possible issue, the pompous campaigner finally ****ed off. I don’t miss him.

Saw some Tory voters being interviewed. Said their biggest issue was immigration and I suppose boat people now the murdochracy has revved them up.

Interviewer pointed out that all the things triggering the,m were happening under a 12 year old Tory govt.

Responded ‘oh but lay-bour would be worse’ Shuddered at the thought

nothing gets nitwits and racists riled up more than the ambiguous boat people claims that seem to become more popular around election times

i'm sorry, i get why people would flee to australia, but who'd willingly go to the UK? i've been there and it was miserable, raining all the time, people were asses, not good!

True. Let's not forget the communist party only narrowly lost the 1933 vote to the Nazi party.

Not historically accurate the KPD (16%) vote was half the NSDP (33%) vote in 1933 elections. SPD (20%)

The KPD was splitting the left vote from the SPD and generally being unwilling to work with the SPD and moderates undermined teh proectsts of effetcive government. But no they did not narrow lose the vote to the Nazi part.

If the KPD had worked with other parties of the left and centre, a prime exampe would be the 1925 predidental elections, won by Hindenberg (48%) Wihilem Marx (centre no left - 45%) Thalmann KPD (6%). A centrist candidate MArx could have been elected which couild have made a real difference in the 1930-1933 period with centerist Predisdnet not suffering fro dementia

Another major factor was the failure of traditional political parties to provide solutions to peoples problems.

Mass unemployment, plummeting living standards, and dysfunctional government and lack of faith in traditional politics seeming removed form the problems of the mass of the population.

But the cast majority of the vote for Nazis was former conservative party voters. And conservative parties had opposed the existence of the Wiemar republic, the stab in the back myth, favored some sort of more authoritarian society , much of the Nazi party memes were already resounding with other consevative arties right from the start of the wiemar republic and indeed before.

Furious spin there.

The Central and Eastern Europeans he wants back doing manual jobs British people do not want, is who the xenophobic Brexit campaign was based on.

Vote for Brexit and kick all the Romanians, and Bulgarians etc out.

Now its, no, thats not what Brexit was about at all.

Funny farage went around australia completely falsely saying it was about muslims.

Still he tailors his bulldust to the audience like the rest of them

Poor old Nigel's got his own problems trying to find a bank that will do business with him, after he got shown the door by posho financiers Coutt's
He's claiming it's politically motivated
Coutt's have made it clear that they expect their customers to have substantial operating capital
Farage is close to broke, basically
It's such a shame. And Aussies just stood by when they could have helped him out and bought tickets for that speaking tour with Trump Jr
🙂

Oh, and the Turks. Turkey "was just about to join the EU and millions of them would flood into Britain"

The UK has had more illegal immigration in the country since they left the EU than when they was in it and some people voted for brexit thinking the UK could control their own borders.
They were certainly duped by Johnson and his cronies for sure
