The french and the 3 countries they have occupied for hundreds of years, the scots, irish and welsh
The EU was formed for the mutual economic benefit of all the members. Making Europe a 450 million person strong economy.

More particularly the hope for the EU was that it would counter some of the nationalist tendencies which had heavily contributed to the 2 worst wars in human history.

But if England sees that getting back control over the labelling of the English sausage is more important, then so be it. ;)
so who has thrived outside of Germany?
do you mean to tell me people vote in Rome or London or Athens and policy is crated in Brussels by faceless technocrats and you think it’s a great idea.? Hahahaha funny

People vote in English villages.
And policy is crated in London.
By faceless technocrats.
And crooked BoZo mates.
But they're our crooks.

Access to a huge market. Mutual protection. No European war since 1945.

But thats ok. Throw it away so the Brits can control their own sausages. ;)

Before brexit - england got to influence policy.

now - they still have to follow those policies if they want to sell goods - only thing is now they get zero say in eu policies.

great success hey smoothie?

The poms got sold a pup by the Brexit machine. Heart over head stuff. ie No brains.

England will slowly become more irrelevant than they were when in the EU. Sad.

Please explain how this is any different to people voting in Melbourne or Sydney or Brisbane and policy is created in Canberra?

Say it to the Scots, who basically has no say on the budgets, allocations and demands or N.I who are treated as 3rd world citizens. Why should Scotland or N.I accept a policy created in another country and that almost ways favours them Little Engladers?

So Brexit was about ridding the UK of an undemocratic ruling body?

From Private Eye:

The totally democratic House of Lords has taken to barring journalists from proceedings when they say things that don’t paint the Lords in the best light.

So democracy!

Going really well ladies and gents.

Food and Drink Federation (FDF) producers lost £2bn in sales, a dent in revenue that could not be compensated for by the increased sales in the same period to non-EU countries including China and Australia.

Dominic Goudie, head of international trade at the FDF, said: “The return to growth in exports to non-EU markets is welcome news, but it doesn’t make up for the disastrous loss of £2bn in sales to the EU. It clearly demonstrates the serious difficulties manufacturers in our industry continue to face and the urgent need for additional specialist support.”

Supermarkets are running out of food.

This is true, usually when i land in the UK i get a supply of cold coffee for a whole week, thanks to addiction from a young age. This time i couldn't find my favourite brand which comes from Austria. I found a few Nescafe's which were about 20% up in price and the whole shelf was empty.

All of the nerd miniature gaming people in various groups I’m in are complaining about postage costs between Europe and the little island. They are sharing details of businesses in Europe that sell the same stuff they used to get from England. Failing that they’re coming up with substitutes.

Stuff coming from UK to Mainland europe are insanely expensive right now. I have a package being held up in the customs here in Bulgaria and they slapped a 30% VAT plus other costs on top of logistics and add 7 days of shipping time, all through DHL. On top of that i needed to sign atleast 5 pages without even reading it. No thanks next time. I will look at Germany or France next time.

The process is equally nightmareish when i order stuff from the Port Store at Alberton. Customs union is such a good thing, we don;t understand it's value till we lose it.

Hahahaha double vacced in the UK but means jack s**t for travelling to the EU. Great work brexit w***ers.

Blue passports and you can buy a pound of apples now, that's Brexit won for half the morons who voted for it.
Don't be so sure - the shelves have been running at half capacity over the last few weeks and unless someone can pull something (most notably some CO2) out of their ass, it looks like it's about to get a whole lot worse.

Went into my local co-op last night and they might have had just enough stock to rustle up a portion of fish and chips for you and the misso.

It's like that meme of an empty supermarket which apparently "socialists" love to see... Except only this is BoJo's United Kingdom. A little like the meme of "Biden's America" with a house being burned in what was actually Trump's America. The cognitive dissonance these felt by these voters must leave them spinning.

Off to Lidl in a short bit. They haven't been hit as hard as Co-op or Sainsbury's (at least in my area) but there is certainly no need to waste your time with a shopping list. Grab what they're selling and hope there is a decent recipe in there.
