The poultry was supposed to come from the US but Uncle Sam has decided UK are lightweight lol yeah we didn't tell you this would happen. Some people (and nations) are still living in the past.

Oh well, at least they might be able to join the CPTPP - with a bunch of countries they barely trade with on the other side of the world :$

No pain, no gain

You aren't building anything you are destroying stuff by eating into peoples savings through inflation. Rampant inflation is a loss in the purchasing power for people, there's nothing to be gained here.

This is what happens you increase peoples wages without productivity. I have warned meds many times in this thread who was gloating about minimum wage rising by 5 pounds as a result of Brexit.

You couldn't dream of buying that much food in Australia with $40
They screw suppliers harder than we do, more compact population lowers transport and storage costs etc etc.

Hardly a surprising from a nation that still worships Churchill, for whom the highlight of the last century was sitting in bomb shelters while the Germans blew the s**t out of their cities and who let the late twentieth century be defined by the death of a rather dull women. With prevailing attitudes like this Brexit was always going to be a balls up.

Had an older relative link to a conspiracy-minded post that the fuel shortage was manufactured to get rid of expiring petrol built up by lockdown. Couldn’t acknowledge the simpler idea, that it was caused by the Brexit she voted for.

You couldn't script this stuff. 3:50

"Dear cheap unskilled foreign labour, please halp us. We will reinstate your foreign visa but only for 3 mths and then we will deport you on Christmas eve. xoxo BoJo"

That's why you set the first referendum up as a non- binding "should we seek to" and once there is a realistic picture of the likely outcomes, you have a binding referendum "should we take this deal or remain" .

It's absolutely what SHOULD have been done. Higher than 50% thresholds are often the norm in significant referendums all around the world. It was nothing short of madness and extreme hubris for Cameron to gamble so carelessly with the future of the entire country.

It was non binding wasn’t it?

The gist is they had lots of leftover fuel due to lockdown about to expire, so manufactured a ‘shortage’ to inspire people to panic buy the remainder. Then the shortage will magically end. It’s pie in the sky stuff.
You learn something new every day, I didn't realise fuel had a shelf life.

Murdog has ferked people all over the world

This is just one more notch to add to his belt

I do wonder what he gets out of deliberately ******* things up for everyone but the very wealthy.
He could still make bank making the world a better place. Is he just evil for the sake of it?

Considering he's canceled his account and has run away screaming like a b*tch, I'd say he's curled up at the feet of some Conservative Top hoping for a scrap or 2 to be dropped to him.

Be fair to the guy. With WFH over he had to endure too many brown people on the tube once more. Brexit was supposed to fix that!!!

It was non binding wasn’t it?

Because the government essentially said that they'd follow the results of the referendum, so it was non-binding but not really. Then came the 'democracy' mob, who said not following the result is undemocratic.

The referendum wasn't binding but the subsequent parliamentary vote on triggering article 50 to leave the EU was, as was the timescale.

Will you still be coming to the UK to deliver presents...
