Bulldogs will ask for our better players. Cloke, fisher obviously dont feature for us much so i dont see why they would be willing to give away their, and one of, the best defenders in the game this year.
Names such as Bower and possibly even a player like Setanta (if he continues his form) may be better options for them.
I dont mind if bower and setanta went the other way. we get lake for defence and waite can go into the forward line.

Bower is 20 years old, has shown huge heart, ability and has potenial to play on the atheletic CHFs to the small forwards. He takes the game on and runs it out of defence (he is a little shakey doing this at times but will improve each year)
Lake is a great defender and should be AA this year but he is 27!!!
I believe by 2011 Bower could be a better player than Lake so a straight swap would be basically giving away 7 years of having a solid key position back!

His manager would realise right now that his client is in career best form......ink the deal to soon and he might just miss out on some extra dough......might also be waiting to see if they move Aker on to free up some coin.

Cant blame the guy for bumping his price up, the dogs arent the richest club but geez a $175k compared to what others are getting is criminal....this will probably will be his last prime 3 years contract of his career, so good luck to him - worth 400k/year for 3 years for sure atm.
