wasn't that the idea of Brisbane?
Now he will be 3 years older, less mobile, less able to exert the new forward pressure thing. Kicking a bag in a blow out VFL game is not the grind of an AFL pre season home and away plus finals campaign.
Fev did not just have the Brownlow. He had years of on field and off field examples. He is a club legend for the Colemans etc but as a club and player group we have moved on.

In terms of mobility, do you think he offers less than Barry Hall last year? I dont!

He isnt AFL fit but could still get there. You have got to remember, if you get a big slap in life, it can take a bit of time to mentally recover...a majority of people would react the same and be slow to recover!

BTW He deserved his slap...i'm not saying he didnt!, just sayin!

I wish I knew how to requote stuff I've already written... Must learn the forums tools thing.

I say he went to Brisbane arrogant, beligerent, pissed off. He was never really going to redeem himself there because he was still in demand - he hadn't lost everything just yet. It's only when you're staring into the abyss that you realise what's really at stake and some people, often through circumstances beyond their control, take longer to figure that stuff out.

He's biding time at VFL level. Nobody could possibly be waiting for him to prove himself there, because he's already proven himself as an elite AFL player. He's just rolling his arm over. That he's lost some weight and had a bit of a go is to show that he's still there, and according to the media this week, THE AFL IS INTERESTED IN HIS COMEBACK.

I say that he's on the way back, hungry and ready to prove himself. There is no way known that you could possibly imagine that such a natural talent would not find a way to fit into whatever structure/gameplan/fitness level Carlton has at the moment. Justin Cordy would have him sorted in a matter of weeks.

He's only 30, not 36 (Fletcher), 34 (Hall), he's still got at least three years at not AFL level, but top 4 AFL level in him.

Why do you people assume that because he got pissed and made a dick of himself then went through the whole depression drama that he has suddenly lost his god-gven ability to boot bulk goals?

Because that's how it's always been.

Not a history fan eh?
I sadly agreed he had to go at the end of 2009. But I'm a fan of human nature and I see that this pendulum is swinging the other way.

You and all the others who can't cope with the idea of Fev ever wearing Navy Blue again will most likely never have to worry. I find that kinda sad.
