:D you've made my day!

Imagine if that was your dad, no kids or teachers for that matter would be messin with ya.

imagine the pta's, 'your son is trouble',

King Taipan, 'what?' (accompanied by stare)

'your son is the new principal'

not funny but you get my point.

Swingshot was where it was 2 on 2, and they had to jump from a platform, bounce off the floor, and grab a ball on a little pole thingy. Challengers and Gladiators were attached by bungy cords. The balls were attached to the pole with velcro. I believe a white ball was 1 point, red was 2 and blue was 3, although I may have stuffed up the colours.
ahh yep. sort of remember it now.

That's right. I do recall an event that used bungy cords, I thought this would be it, but I couldn't remember how the game was played, so thanks for filling in the blanks. :thumbsu:

I can't believe i may of remembered this but i think it was called 'Atlasphere' or something.

They had to run over the pods to get points, and when they did, steam rose from them. Of course the Gladiators job was to stop them from doing so.

Some very handsome men there and what a top thread this is.

What the ****? Was the schebecsta really the voice overs guy? Holy **** i never knew that, i listen to him all the time and havent heard anything mentioned about it, but of course there is the Gladiators of sport segment, whihc kinda makes sense.

Damn gladiators was the **** back in the day, would love it if they had repeats on Foxtel, i remember the English version being a lot better though. Imagine if they replaced FNL with those **** house F-Grade celebrites, and replaced it with gladiators! Now that would be awesome.

Haha we did the same thing in primary school. One of our "events" was the gauntlet where we had to run between 2 BRICK WALLS lol and trying to squeez past some kids. Oh them the days.:D
Oh man, that sounds awesome. My friends and I used to try to recreate Gladiator events too. There was a big slide made out of tin that used to be the travelator. It was really steep, it would get really hot and burny during the summer.
We also had a chain bridge and would line up on each side of it. One person from each side would get on the bridge and we'd try and bounce each other off it. Ahhh, the memories. And the injuries.
My old primary school has since removed the tin slide and the chain bridge. Pussies.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Gladiators also. It semed to be really popular when it was on. I was amazed when Seven canned it after just two series.

My favourites: Vulcan, referee Mike Whitney and the stunning Delta!

Now who'd of thought that just 10 years ago Eric Bana would be doing Tony Schbecci commentary impersonations on Full Frontal.....

Wonder if the Schbecster can do a mean Chopper or Hulk parody???

I was in the Vinnies shop on Sydney road a few yrs back, having a look at the magazine/book section and there was about 1/2 doz editions of 'Gladiator' magazine!! lying in the tray, wished i'd bought 'em for a chuckle!!

There was one other game which was sort of lile tug of war whilst in a sumo wrestling area where the challenger had to pull the gladiator out of the circle, and vice versa to win.

Vulcan disputed Whitney one time and he produced the red card, marvellous.

Also, Cougar was another of the Gladiator's who mysteriously left the series, this was because he was convicted of sexual harassment - during a break in shooting episodes at Boondall Arena in Brisbane.

Looks a bit like Johnny Gastev.

I remember the host Kimberley Davies who was bagged on Full Frontal - as well as Mike Hammond (saw him on Foxtel the other day). The great Tony Schibeci did the voiceovers as well I think.

A modern, updated version of Gladiators would be hell cool. I used to love that show...I still have a 'Gladiators' towel with all their names on it!! Bring it back!!

Looking at some of that footage, what is with fashion back then!!
