Bring back the "Gary Ablett Jr" rule

With the resurgence of over lap handball this season, the league should seriously consider re-introducing the 50m penalty for impeding the player who's just disposed of the ball.

For consecutive weeks now Blakey and Jmac have been targeted and brought to ground after every touch, knowing the penalty is only a free kick against.

Getting sick of seeing play makers being dragged down to stop the run. Add to that, Blakey missed most of the second term getting his shoulder assessed after being cleaned up at the end of a run.

Pretty sure there is a rule where if you impede a player getting to the next contest it is a free and 50m.
See it happen often but never paid except a couple of weeks it happened and was paid and had most people perplexed as to what the 50 was for.
Funny thing was it was a pretty soft one compared to the many you see go unpaid.

It is funny how kneejerk quick they are to pay 50's all over the stand rule but a genuine rule that has an impact on the play and player that has been in place for years is rarely used.

Blakey is a great player but he would have the oddest body shape in all of football. I know he can’t help it but it doesn’t look right somehow.
