Seriously though, once a coach loses his players, let alone his captain, he's failed step one and simply has to go.
Which is not to say he wasn't/wouldn't be a good assistant.

Every coach at the Bulldogs.

So maybe the losing culture would break any coach. Remember, the club president said he was good for most of the journey. Griffen has shown himself to be weak. Minson is one of the senior players.

Everyone pokes fun at Aker. But he exposed the Bulldogs players' culture. If you read what Aker says about them, there is no doubt what went down with Macca: Never tell the truth to a senior Bulldogs player.

Funny, I was having a discussion along similar lines with a Tigers mate at work. He felt that footy teams are run like businesses and if the coach does not meet the KPI's after about two years they are dead. It took about seven years for Mark Thomson to develop a young side into a premiership side.
I suspect that sacking the coach after only a short duration will only set the Dogs back further away from the top teams.

Where are "leading teams' ? Looks like they have some work to do at quite a few clubs ATM
(or are they a bit old hat now....)

I would take Bmac over Sando if I had to choose.

Just because the fact that BMac was pushing for harder efforts and they would not have it. There is something about the resolve of that bloke and the way he handled the whole thing and what he achieved at WB that makes me think he has the goods to do it - just needs the place with the patience.

Go Catters

I think that you over estimate Bmac and underestimate the WB.
It has only been 60 years since they won a premiership. It is not as though they have a cultural problem.

He is apparently a top notch player development coach…..

I like the idea of both Sando and BMac back at Geelong….class people with good football nous and knowledge.

Its a yes from me.

Famous musicians as footballers - now there's a thread we need in these dark times!
Why not get this going in the music thread?
Just some random names, Elvis, Whacko Jacko, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, ..........Andre Rieu

Did you know he is actually a Star key?
No- what's a 'star key'? At the risk of being shot 'cos everyone's heard this so many times before... I thought Christensen was the 'key'??? ;)

(I'm so glad that we don't have our newspapers over here plastered with "Allen is the Key", etc. or whatever it is...)

urk!! Just checked- read it .. I got it now...

(Totally unaware of musicians' personal lives ;))
