Personally I prefer night games. Would be happy with Friday and Saturday night games all season.
Hoping for less Thursday night games but expect to be disappointed

I’d also like us to play the Auskick all-stars for the first five and last five games of the year, play our gather round game at the MCG whilst the other teams slog it out up in SA, have a +24 point advantage to start the season and have a +30 point head start in every finals game.

The whole purpose of round zero is to play in Qld/NSW because NRL is in Vegas

The whole purpose of round zero is to play in Qld/NSW because NRL is in Vegas

But aren't the NRL games in Vegas on the week before Opening Round?

Unless I'm mistaken I think the Vegas games are March 1, 2026 & Opening Round is the following weekend.

I thought that's why people couldn't understand why the AFL used that as a reason in the first place.

A game against the Saints at the MCG is far preferable to playing the Giants in Sydney in Round 0 like we have for the past 2 years. We might even be a chance of starting the year with a win instead of a thumping loss like the last couple of years

I look forward to the coming year with hope, like every other year. I don't have high expectations though. I didn't this year either, and was very pleasantly surprised by what the team delivered. To expect the old guys to be the team mainstays again is really loading them too much. Yet we don't have any young stars pushing through other than the two Daicos's. The years of traded draft picks have to come home to roost sometime. But of course, I will watch with hopes of one more good year. And the year after will be the same. We really are tragic.

I'm really looking forward to seeing our young players come on.

I have great hopes for them as well as the other young players.
Then there's the draft picks we'll get this year, watching them in the VFL will be great.

Gee for a change it would be nice to get a double-up in 2026 against WCoast. Or Richmond. Or North.

(In Curnow's most recent Coleman Medal year, he kicked something like 20 goals across the Blues' two games against WCoast. The inequalities in fixturing border on farcical.)
