When the last match finishes it’s officially footy hype season, Big Bash is just background noise
The fixture had a Melbourne Stars home match in Canberra against the Sydney Thunder during the Boxing Day test. Thunder has a brilliant record at their second home. Just absolutely comical.

Kangaroo does not taste good. Not enough fat.
Lamb on the spit.. pork beef and Croc all taste better than roo.
Talking about spits FJ. Ex Bummer premiership player Barny got me to do a lamb and chicken spit for 150 people.at country boat club on NYE. 60 kg of meat , hard work but worth it. you would have loved it .

We'll be top 4 again. I think we're even stronger this year
I'm with you Manic.

We had a lot go wrong for us at the wrong time of the year for us. Multiple week injuries to Howe, Frampton, DeGoey, Mihocek, McStay, Maynard and losing Bobby for most of the season.

You'd expect to see immediate improvement from: Houston, DeGoey, Bobby and Moore (I honestly think last season was a wake up call to how loose he can play at times).
You'd expect to see development from: Reef, Steele, Parker, Harrison, West, Allan and Long (there's more room for growth with Ned)
You'd expect a decline from Pendles, Sidey and Howe though that's not guaranteed.

There's more positives than negatives in my eyes. We'll be back*

*as long as we don't rest players for the sake of it.

Ahem, doesn't anyone watch tennis?
Tennis is good for periods. The lack of high Aussie involvement hurts. Outside of the AO it can be very difficult to find good tennis coverage if you don’t have foxtel. I frequently have live score updates for match I like. The grunting really really really hurts.

Nick and Thanassi doubles last night was entertaining. Foxtel doesn't have tennis now.

I played tennis for many years, social and competition.
I almost gave up watching once the shieker/ screamer/grunters were allowed to get away with it.
Loved watching Barty play, never a shriek from her.
What if Warney was a shrieker?
….the shrieking sheikh of tweak.

Shane? I might have exaggerated as to the last games i watched. I did see Warnie play.
Not sure I'd call him our greatest bowler though.
708 test wickets not enough?

Lillee will always be my favourite, so exciting to watch.
Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee remember that cry that went around the ground.
Almost as good as Colllllllllllllllllllllllllllllingwoooooooooooooooooooooooooood! 💕
I was a Redheads in South Melbourne during the day and in walked Lillee, Bruce Reid and Terry Alderman, managed a beer with all three, Lillee had soft drink, they were looking for another venue so pure accident. Made my day

Zero Hangar thinks we should be making a GF .....

Collingwood

Pass mark: Grand Final
The cliff is coming quickly for Collingwood, and 2026 is deemed its last opportunity to achieve the ultimate success before a host of veterans depart.
The Pies attempted to hit the draft knowing full well most of their youth will bide their time in the upcoming season, as Craig McRae struggles to replace the evergreen Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom and Jeremy Howe.
A home preliminary final should've resulted in a grand final chance, but the Pies ran into a white-hot Lions outfit and were dismantled in 15 minutes of football.

Collingwood's list a concern heading into 2025

But at their best, Collingwood proved they can compete, and those who have quickly forgotten they were 10 points on top of the ladder heading into the final month of the season.

Would love for us to do that with 3-4 young players firmly in our best 23.

Would be good if both of swadling and prindles are able to make their way into the side with their skillset.

Obviously hoping West takes one spot and HH earns a starting spot as well.

We're in a much position than what the media is saying. The only thing we need is a bit more pace around the ground and we'll have that this year.
