Universal Love #Bringbackthebars - A heritage message from Port Adelaide fans

Hello guys, as you are playing us this week (and therefore have us in mind), I was hoping you'd take a read of our #bringbackthebarscampaign and sign our petition at www.bringbackthebars.com.

We have an inextricably linked history and you understand the need to retain identity as much as any club.

This campaign is not about changing our current guernsey, but about being allowed to wear our traditional guernsey on occasion, without the stipulation of having to beg Collingwood every time. Your support is very much appreciated.

I think Lions fans more than any can appreciate what you’re doing after having our own guernsey issues. So you have my support.

Although when you referred to that link which outlines your campaign and position your manifesto, it made me nervous.

The manifesto represents the absolutes of the campaign and the principle that clubs should be allowed to control their own destinies in terms of heritage.

The realistic aim is to wear it for two or three games a year, to have in enshrined in our firsts team. It is something that will become even more important when the AFL reserves start up and we probably drop out of the SANFL.

I fought for our guernsey to come back so happy to support another club do the same.

The name, perhaps you're right. But that last Bears guernsey was fire, second best guernsey ever IMO behind, funnily enough, the Prison Bars.

But.... it is about them , don't you know anything. There's a reason the South Australians & West Australians always hated Victorians with an absolute passion when it came around to interstate gamer. Always been arrogant and up themselves.
