Actually wasn't as hard as I though it might be...

FB: Johnson Andrews Michael
HB: White Leppitsch Rich
C: Lappin Voss McCluggage
HF: Zorko Brown Akermanis
FF: Daniher Lynch Cameron
R: Keating Black Neale
I: Bradshaw Dunkley Ashcroft Pike Power

In the end I decided that even Dunkley's still a new player in the grand scheme of things, he still has shown enough in the two years with us. Wanted to squeeze Brad Boyd in there but couldn't justify it. Leaving out Chris Scott was the hardest call probably.
Which Ashcroft?
Sorry just saw the date of your post.

Really I could see a solid argument for moving Lappo to a wing, Aker to a forward flank and Zorks to a back flank but it's all academic in the end.
I have added Starce to the team, I thought he was probably good enough to push his way in at the beginning of the year but his finals performances have cemented it for me. He was huge. Has probably been the #1 or hovering around the #1 small-mid lockdown defender for some time in the AFL.
I've moved Joe from the bench into a starting FP spot at the expense of Bradshaw who I shifted to the bench. His performances over the last finals series, this one and just his overall performance for us as the #1 key forward and the back up ruck are undeniable.

Bump, combined 3peat and B2B side getting even more interesting, 12 from 3 peat era and 10 from B2B era.

Chris Johnson, Harris Andrews, Brandon Starcevich.
Chris Scott, Justin Leppitsch, Dayne Zorko.

Clark Keating, Michael Voss(C), Lachie Neale.
Simon Black, Hugh McCluggage, Jason Akermanis.

Charlie Cameron, Jonathan Brown, Zac Bailey.
Joe Daniher, Alistair Lynch, Luke Power.

Darryl White, Nigel Lappin, Josh Dunkley, Will Ashcroft.

I know he is nowhere near a big name but Fort is a bit stiff to miss out (and not saying its wrong either, Keating was amazing), he has been amazing in every final he's played. I'd also have Lohmann getting a look in, probably JUST ahead of White and it pains me to say that. Above all that, I've got Fletcher as one of the first picked, don't know where but he's there. I suspect once careers are done, Morris and Wilmott might be in there too.

If you include a sub too - for me - its Rayner. Having him come in to do an impact role, wow.

This is a very fair effort. The numbers between the eras is starting to even up. Slightly weighted to the Threepeat side is fair enough. End of next seasons reassessment could be interesting.

Edit. I should just add that the run home this season was as close to the mentality and brutality of the threepeat side as we have seen since then.

3 years ago this was so easy. It was basically just our threepeat team with a couple of add ons. I've tried to pick this team as if they will be playing. I'm gonna cheat a bit because the bench is extended next year.

Johnson, Andrews, Starcevich.
C Scott, Leppitsch, Lappin.

Akermanis, Neale, McCluggage.
Martin, Voss (c), Black.

Bailey, Brown (vc), Zorko
Cameron, Lynch, Daniher.

Dunkley, Bradshaw, Power, White, W.Ashcroft

You can switch the positions around without much issue, a few of the guys in the team have played multiple.

Hard to see how the guys mentioned above like Motty, Fletcher and Lohman won't end up having arguments to usurp some of the starters.
Logan Morris is coming off a 50 goal year as a second year KPF. The talent in our young guys at the moment is going to make for some serious arguments

Nice team. Which Starcevich ;) ?

I like your team and in particular, I love one selection; Stefan Martin.

Whilst he didn't win a flag, at his peak, Stef Martin is arguably our best ruckman in our 29 year history.
100%, yes. The other guys played in premierships, but it’s no contest; Stef was the better player by miles.

If peak Stef was in this team, he’d be a superstar of the comp.

FF: Cameron Lynch Daniher
R: McInerney Voss Black

Bench: Neale Dunkley W Ashcroft Starcevich

The ?? spot is because I want to do something really irresponsible and put Motty or Jaspa in the team.
I know Voss was a good player or did you mean Brett? Black to centre. Neale to rover. Bailey on the bench and I think you have nailed it.

The only players from the current era that would make the team are Andrews, McLuggage, Zorko, Neale, Cameron, Ashcroft and Dunkley.

Inbetween, two non premiership players make it. Martin takes the ruck. Patfull finds a spot in defence. Both would be walk up starts in both premiership era teams.

The rest are the 2001-2003 team. The 2001-2003 team would shit all over every premiership team since, including our last two.

I'm taking peak Joe Daniher over peak Daniel Bradshaw quite comfortably, I think.

Only argument I'd entertain for Bradshaw is that Joe only played 4 seasons for us. But it's still not close. A much much harder era to be a key forward in.
