Brisbane have been very happy with the way nick hill has enterd the club. he presence has been very warming to say the least. he has been having a big impact on the training track showing the team different things he has picked up while in the coaching ranks at the bulldogs.

on anther note the Bears have been happy with the way things have been going on and off the feild with Brad johsnon and simon black on fire at the moment.

Sadnews Injury wise with Mathew Primus breaking down again, and requring another knee reco. The most likley perosn to be elvated is ben kane. Brisbane are also looking for another person to Replace Clarke Keating as he will be out for atleast 6 weeks.

We also face a nervous wait in the next couple of days with Peter Everitt, Shane Crawford, Mathew Primus all having to face the tribunal.

Other worrys injury wise are:
Jade Rawlings and Micheal Voss

Brisbane have let out a "hopeful" starting lineup

B - G. Wangerneen – D.WHite – J. Smith
HB – T. Kennelly – T. Harley – A. Kingsley
C – B. Kirk – S. Crawford – B. Johnson
HF – M. Lappin – P. Everitt – S. Dew
F - J. Bowden – J. Rawlings – L. Power
R – A. Rocca – S. Black – M. Voss

In:
B. Kirk

they hopefull will be the only changes if not the team will look lke this:

HB – T. Kennelly – T. Harley – A. Kingsley
C – G. Wangerneen –B. Kirk – S. Hart
HF – M. Lappin –S. Stevens – S. Dew

S. Crawford (susp)
P. Everitt (susp)
J. Rawlings (inj)
M. Voss (Inj)

On the young players side Brock Mclean has been tearing up the training track and is very close to making his senior Debut. If injurys/ Suspensions take a toll then Scott Stevens will be making his Debut for the Bears. Troy Chaplin has been looking good aswell. he has put on some bulk and has been doing some good 1 on 1 work with the big man Doug Scott.

I would just like to say how estatic i am about the recent trade period it was a tough time for myself and Ryan to get the best talent into the place and i feel we have done sensationally well. Most of the credit should go to Ryan but as we all know football is a team sport and everyone at the club was innvolved.

Ryan and myself had sleepless nights doing trades with other clubs and talking to managers and as you can see where really heading down the right track for a real great year ahead. I said to Ryan we have to aim at the more of the young talent and i believe getting rid of some of the older players really seals a core in the Brisbane Bears Football Club. From what i seen at the Western Bulldogs its really the way to go having young talent and what we have is the best young talent.

Ryan and myself no were we want to head and thats to get a premiership and thats the aim of the game so from now on lets see the players do the talking.

Thanks Very Much Nick Hill

J. Walker (Trade from Geelong)
Mathew Robbins (Trade from Bulldogs)

Unfortunatly Hart and Power have both been traded so they were dropped from teh team. Daryll White is out for a week with an injury. Rodan and Kennelly have both been dropped due to horrible form and Ball will be sent back to the QAFL for a bit of a break.

Chappy, Milburn Walker and Robbins all playing their first game for the club and will all start on teh ground. Adam Kingsley wil join them after coming back from injury.

Now--------- to what yo have all ben waiting for-------- the jumper ceremony!!

Ok firstly from geelong the small bald haired midget.

PAUL CHAPMAN!!!!!! *Crowd Claps*

Next

The hard at it Defender, has no fear. knocked SOS out.....

DARREN MILBURN *Crowd Claps*

Last pick up from geelong. Trying his luck at his 3rd AFL club..

JAMES WALKER!!!!!!!!!!! *Crowd Claps*

Now a pickup from the Bulldogs. Again at his 3rd AFL Club

MATHEW ROBBINS *Crowd Claps*

Now a little bit about the trades.

Luke Power + Xavier Clarke FOr Darren Milburn + James Walker + Paul Chapman.

we think it was a pretty even deal. Luke Power is a star and Xavier Clarke was inconsistent. In the end we got 3 Consisten Footballers with alot of Experience + chappy who has a hard head and really puts in the hard yards.

Shaun Hart For Mathew Robbins

We beleive that we gave up a bit in this trade. Shaun has been sensational for us but we beleive that the end is near for him. Mathew robbins still has years at the top and will continue to improve.

*Nick Hill Hand Players there Jumpers*

and Finally with Promotions

We have

Clarke Keating, Mathew Primus and Dylan Mclaren all out with Long term injuries.

Ben Kane, Josh Thurgood and Joel Macdonald have all been Elevated.

THis concludes the Press conferecne

Caro: Well this is our first press conference for 6 weeks now so i would like to welcome the media. Ryan wont be too far away now so if you please wait he will be out soon.

---------------------------------10mins------------------------------------------
RR: Ok welcome to this press conference/ update. today we will look at the performance of our newly traded players, how our draftees are coming along, the recent departure of Nick Hill and Our team Success for the year 2004.

Newly Traded Players

Chappy - The kid has been superb for us and will be at the club for a long time

Milburn - brought in to add some experiance to the club and the backline. he has done a good job holding down the backline since he hs come

Robbins - Has Struggled to get a game with a few players in the same area as him performing very well. Will get a game soon.

Walker - Has played very welll and slotted into the backline supurbly.

Draftees
5 - Brock Mclean - He has Looked VERY good in the reserves. May Make a Debut very soon.
16[b/] Troy Chaplin. Same as Brock been very good and may make his debut.
33 Luke Peel - Promising wont make his Debut this year

56 Doug Scott - Same as Spencer
64 Matt Ball - Brother of talented saint Luke. He made his debut this year and has looked very strong

Our success this year has been super. we have had 1 shock loss to carlton, but we have refused to let that put a dampener on this season. we have had alot of big wins this year and we hope that we can continue to do this for the rest of the year and the remaining finals series.

ANY QUESTIONS?

Media - Who will you be looking to trade at the end of the year?
R- there are a few players that we think will have to prove themselves before the end of the year to remain at the club.

Media - Has Shane Crawford Injury been a dissapointment?
R - Yes it has but that is footy and knowing shane he will be back next year fitter and better then ever

Media - Are you affraid that you list is becoming OLD?
R- Yes we are and at the end of the year we will be looking to get some good young talent at the club.

Media- Your contract expires at the end of the year! will you be leaving the club?

Good evening everyone. Our list has undergone a good make over already in the early stages of trading. We have scene some of our older players traded for some fresher face around here. We are very happy with the list and will continue to improve our list during the trade period.

Unfortunatly at every club there come delistings. We have not held back info from any players. There are 7 players who have been notified that there services are not required at the Brisbane Bears football club in 2004. Only 1 of the 7 have decided to go public at this current stage in time. Therefore we wish to announce that Rowan Warfe willnot be at the Brisbane Bears football club for the Year 2005.
