Great ATP field. Probably as strong as the US Open draw and the last Paris Masters :)
Sure is, they have done well to lock in some of the big name guys. Looking forward to it!

Kei Nishikori and Stephens are not playing, injured
Damn! Nishikori always seems to be injured. I wonder if he will play any tournament before the Aust Open

Just to add to Nadal's Brisbane withdrawal he also won't be playing Fast4 in Sydney which also features Kyrgios, AZverev and Dimitrov.

If tomic withdraws from Aus open than surely he will retire

I think he will play the tour again but nweds timw away.

I called it three months ago, given everything he has said there is no way he was going to face what he would see as the humiliation of playing qualifying in Australia.

So many players are doubtful for the Aus Open. Heres hoping.
It is a worry. These players all have some queries on whether they will play and if they do, what type of form will they bring:
Nadal, Wawrinka, djokovic, Murray, Raonic, nishikori, Serena, azarenka. Probably missing others as well.

AO organisers will be very nervous. With a number of those players rankings all over the place we could have some interesting 3rd and 4th round matches.

Women's qualies started today. The biggest and only surprise was Sara Tomic beating Kayla Day (former junior #1) with the one-sided scoreline 6-1 6-1.
