I like your post Admiral, and I was very frustrated when I wrote that, most of it was from frustration of watchiong a game destroyed by skill level drop offs, and umpires with the heavy rock strapped around their necks of stupid inconsistent grey rules.I'd like to ;ike your post, I agree with the general observstions, except that I really hope GWS win a flag soon just to stick it up the peoplke who mock them.
I think the rest of the problem is that the AFL keep changing rules trying to "speed up the game" to the point where players are just too exhausted to think clearly or execute skills. So teams recruit and train for fitness and effort over skills, which leads us to the poor standards of the modern game. Umpires too, this game didn't get interesting til the umpires got fatigued and stopped blowing their whistle at every little thing.
Yes should have won. Won most of the important stats and dominated the giants in general play. Clearly the better team.So says one of the 10 ex rugby GWS supporters ! Wtf would you know ? Yes I can reel off easy dozen GWS gifts if you like but fact is your last goal the one that determined the result was a fact . End of story
Lions last goal was from a push in the back.So says one of the 10 ex rugby GWS supporters ! Wtf would you know ? Yes I can reel off easy dozen GWS gifts if you like but fact is your last goal the one that determined the result was a fact . End of story
Turned out you were correct, kudos to you.I called it at the start of the finals and a lot of Brisbane supporters jumped on me but it happened. Straight sets
Wouldn't go that far but your point is spot on. Brisbane have shown tremendous talent and I thought they were every chance to win the premiership.Brissie probably blew their best chance of ever getting close to a premiership. Finish top two as an interstate team, gotta make the most of all your opportunities, tomorrow's not guaranteed, just look at Melbourne.
It fits into their life view that everything is unfair. As if God has the time to be picking on these nobs. They think the successful people have been lucky - good job, good family, good finances etc. Whereas they have been unlucky and their teachers, bosses etc have treated them unfairly and girls don’t give them a chance. Truly pitiful. Those who constantly whinge about umpires are implying that they are cheats. What a preposterous notion to peddle about professional athletes who take such pride in their work. Why would they bother?
I feel that is what happened, skill for kicking at goal killed Brisbane , same thing last week against Richmond , had the better round the ground were in attack more time than their opponents were , but couldn't score. Well they scored points a bit!
