Brisbane snuck over the line in one of the best AFL Grand Finals played. Collingwood were very gallant in defeat, they gave their all and tried their guts out but just werent good enough to beat the Lions today.
Lynch got a very lucky free which put the Lions in front with 6-7 minutes left and Akermanis snapped a great goal from 13 metres out to seal the win with 5 minutes left.

Definatly the best AFL Grand Final ive seen (live that is).

Well done Brisbane.

But seriously if I hear one more time how "brave", "gallant", etc, we were I will throw up. To all those people predicting an absolute thrashing, I know my team and I knew we would take it up to them. We could have won, if...and there are always a lot of ifs.

Again, well done Brisbane. Thoroughly deserved.

Terrific Grand Final, one of the best I've seen that's for sure!

Collingwood played sensationally and their supporters should really feel proud of your boys for their tremendous guts and determination, it was just that Brisbane had two extra goals left in them.

Great effort Lions, in the various stages of the match I thought the Pies just had the edge and couldn't see the Lions coming back (despite all their firepower) but in the end the cream rose to the top and Akermanis and Voss found their form when it was most needed. A champion team.

Feel for Mickey Malthouse, Nathan Buckley and the Pies players they played their hearts out and never gave up hope. In a way I thought a draw would have been an appropriate ending to today's proceedings. Though having said that when the goes gets tough, the tough gets going and that's what Brisbane showed today.
