Speaking of talent.

Is there enough bigheads in the Brisbane line-up to fill an entire Lleyton Hewitt entourage.

How the hell they are up and down like a honeymooners dick amazes me.

Will they ever achieve what their talent implies they are capable - or do they lack the intestinal fortitude to climb the mountain and reach the top????

That I have Jethro, just trying to inspire some passion, getting closer to the season and I need a good dose of argument to prime me for the Ansett Cup.

At least I can come up with a resoned argument to back up what I say.

The tough ones are Carlton, Hawthorn, West Coast, Adelaide (although they are both in strife now with their lists), because they have acheived what they should and more given their resources.

Essendon as well, but everyone just ****ing hates them.

As for Melbourne , they shit me to tears.

And homework boy, you never make any sense - what on earth are you talking about fool??

Well of course I will not!!!!! ... That is what blind loyalty is all about although I admire My club's wonderful resourcefulness in the face of adversity.

Yes I agree, our supporter base is pathetic and worth taking the piss out of us for, but at the end of the day along with Hawthorn, Carlton, Essendon, West Coast, Adelaide - we achieve the equal if not more than we should given the comparative resources each of us have.

Not an excuse, but a valid argument.

As for the rest, there is little excuse, save the Bullies and maybe St Kilda, for the glaring inadequacies of the remainder of the clubs in the competition.

EG:

Collingwood - How can they have such a sustained lack of on field success.

Brisbane - Talent - no heart

Sydney - How much help do they need

Port POwer - Launghing at them

Fremantle - laughing harder

Melbourne - how much prestige, history and old money do you need?????

Richmond - one finals appearance in 17 years.

Geelong - should have won flags and should never have been so elaborately in debt with such an enornmous supporter base.

Quite valid arguments as all of the above sides have adequate resources yet largely unexplained lack of on field and in some cases off field success.

u are the perfect example of what all north supporters are like...
go back to the dark stinky ally where you and all your pathetic friends sleep on a piece of cardboard. no wonder the roos have no money!

*YAWN* Go have a cry and then watch in disbelief as the mighty Lions kick ALL your respective asses this season!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOO THE MIGHTY LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

*the one and only lioness*

Having watched every Lions Victorian match (and a couple in Brisbane as well) since the merger, the Lions to me, while talented appear to lack a certain amount of physical strength that 'older' teams like North, Carlton and Essendon currently have. This has cost them particularly against the top sides (obviously).

Hopefully the addition of Pike, the return of Brad Scott and the good form of Michael Voss and Chris Scott who are both hard at the ball will go some way to rectify this in 2001. Lawrence will be missed in this area also. I also hear young Bolton is training the house down and has beefed up considerably. If he and a few other players can develop that physical strength and that "hardness" that other teams have, then along with their clear talent, Brisbane may have a show at being there on that last day in September.

Starting to win at the MCG would also help as well.

I can never understand people who say that the Lions aren't hard at the ball. It has been their hardness at the ball which has given them the edge over a lot of sides.
Look at the midfield.
Voss is never afraid to go in after the hard-ball, or put his body on the line despite his injury problems
Black lead the league in hard-ball gets last season before getting injured, and registers as many tackles as almost any other player in the league.
Hart always gets under the bottom of the pack.
Chris Scott is tough at the ball on the ground and in the air. He takes plenty of marks in the backline backing up.

I really don't understand why people say that they're soft, or arrogant. I have found that people just say these things and can't back them up.

When North rattle a tin at footy games for thier survival I for one will not contribute a cent. Cya Kym and good riddance. Give Brissy the same 70 or so years you have been here and I bet they win more than your pathetic total of Cups. (but you still have the gold one, maybe you can hock it?)

Interesting, isn't it Kymhodgemansmo, that when you raise some valid points for discussion about various sides their supporters can do no more than lash out unimaginatively at North (as if there aren't enough threads already devoted to this pointless pursuit!). Methinks you may have hit the raw nerve of truth. I think it was Descartes who said "when you look in someone elses mirror the reflection is still you". Or was it me? Who does Descartes think he is anyway?
---------------------------------------------
I think therefore I am a North supporter.
