Brisbane would be insane to bring back Daniher

Hipwood thrives without him which makes the whole team better and more dynamic. With Daniher their only plan is to kick to him then when he bungles it hope that Cameron can crumb a goal.

Against good teams like Geelong that is easy pickings. That's why Melbourne smashed them by 10 goals last time, if Daniher played tonight the result would have been similar.

Once the Demons got 28 points up there would be no coming back with Joe putting in no effort to pressure or chase

Daniher is coming back in for Fullarton lol

Fort is only being replaced by Oscar, and I wouldn’t be upset if we have Fort another crack after that

Yeah nah. Hipwood rejoined the team mid year coming off an ACL - He is still building back to his best.

When hipwood is at his best he is running his opponent off his feet with long searching leads down the ground outside the forward 50. Whilst Joe would sit closer to goal.

Doesn't quite have the fitness to do that this season but he will be back to it next year.

Let’s be serious for one moment here people.

We all know and must acknowledge that Joseph Daniher is simply nothing more than a garden variety smart arse who plays our great game merely as a hobby and holds our great game in utter contempt.

He has no place in this finals series and is not worthy of inclusion so therefore he should be banished for all eternity as to pump out as many above height children as his dear wife can handle.

For he is the last line of Daniher royalty to spawn offspring that has a chance of playing at the elite level.

We must preserve him and his god blessed sperm so that it is guaranteed his legacy will destroy any remaining hope of a future Daniher champion that ended with retirement of his uncle ..the great Chris Daniher.

Daniher has torn Geelong apart a few times in his career. If he doesn't make himself available or isn't picked, I'll be celebrating.

AFL Member so all clubs I guess.
Demons have a flag now. No hunger or passion.

Geelong players are hungry. You need Daniher to snag a few goals to have any chance

I’ve heard he is the best chance of reaching 100 goals in a season.

Will kick at least 70 goals next week

Insane is the wrong word, but I do think Hipwood at least seems to play better when Daniher is not there. Having said that, Daniher is capable of going nuts and kicking a bag so it is hard to ever leave him out, and Fullerton hardly pressed his case.

Having less talls helps in finals, but I also think it is a matter of Hipwood getting fitness and confidence back up after his injury. Daniher's kicking for goal remains a joke, however, his field kicking is sensational. I always said in his time at Essendon that he was a CHF, not a FF. If he pushes up the ground he creates a lot of room behind him and if he leads at the ball and can run and jump he's unstoppable at his height.

The Brisbane poster above spoke about Hipwoods strength being his speed and beating his opponent back to goal. Well, the two of them leading at the ball can split the defence if they get it in unison. They will either draw defenders up the ground which makes life ridiculously easy for McStay and Cameron, or they are let loose and can either kick a long bomb for goal or dish off to a running mid who can run to 50.

Daniher is definitely "laconic" and isn't really a footy fan. However, he still happens to be a ridiculously talented 201cm freak.

Fagan has a tough decision.

McStay, Daniher, Hipwood, Fort and McInerny all deserve spots, but you have to drop/leave out one of them.

Fort had the game of his life last night, whilst McStay was great again after being awesome last week.

I thought Tom Fullarton was very good on the big stage, but you'd think Daniher comes in for him. I think Fagan will probably drop Fort, but he would be the unluckiest bloke ever.

Possibly both he and Hipwood don’t gel too well. Maybe still need to work on the structure.

Personally I’ve always thought Daniher was at his best playing high and leading from half forward up to the wing. He’s quick, a nightmare matchup for a defender and a very good field kick. Plus of course he can tear back into the F50 and crash packs.

First of all, the OP has form on Daniher, having just posted this:

"What if your husband playing a game of football once a week for 6 months a year was the only reason you had a nice house and a couple of investment properties and didnt need to work while you raised the kid"

on the Daniher baby thread.

Secondly... the idea of not bringing back Daniher is just stupid. If you can have a two-tall forward line - like Richmond, Geelong, Carlton and even Sydney - you'd be insane not to use it. Even in a down year, Daniher is still knocking in over two goals/game and is vastly better than the next-best options at Brisbane, particularly with McStay going.

OP has a fixation on Daniher more than anything else.
