He is the sort of player we need but has not been producing his best or ever developed into the sort of star that he could have/should have been. I am wondering is he a serial under achiever because of the way melbourne is going atm, or one of the many players not towing the line that is causing them to be in the situation they are in?? Futher more what would people be willing to give up to get him???

First of all he's untouchable:)p) second of all he isn't an under acheiver he was awesome in 06 at only 19 and suffered a bad injury last year wich set him back quite a bit.

And so far this year he has been very good and i was very suprised he wasn't selected in the top 40 for Victoria.

He was was our best player on the weekend and equal or just behind Pavlich for B.O.G.

Alot of people forget that he is only 21......

And it's spelt McLean:)p)

Serial underachiever or not, he sh*ts on most of our current midfielders so if the opportunity came up to get him then I say we go for it. Prismall had 44 touches in the VFL on the weekend - he'd be handy too.

Ben Cousins is a need for us the way we're going. The reason we play cr*ap against sh*t teams is because our midfield doesn't have the ability to rip a game open. Ben Cousins is the kind of player that grabs a game by the scruff of the neck and doesn't let go - obviously the kind of player we need.

We get Cousins and McLean/Prismall and we're laughing.

Absolutely, if we can get Cousins coupled with either of those 2 you have mentioned it would just about put us on an equal footing with the top 2 Clubs in the Comp.
I reckon Collingwood`s midfield would just about break even With Aberfeldie Thou.

You are joking right?

Beat me to the punch.

Brock McLean would absolutely walk into our side. Would probably be captain at the age or 21, but does anyone seriously think that The Dees are going to give up an A list player like that. He and Nathan Jones are the best two players on their list. Two players you can build a great midfield around.

As far as Primsall goes, I have never seem him play but Geelong obviously considers him about number 7 on their midfield list. Handy to pick up if you give away nothing, but what we need is 2 A list midfielders. McLean and Jones or Mitchell or Kerr(strongly rumoured to be at Carlton next year) or Cooney or Corey or Griffen etc etc would be nice, but we have got Buckleys cahance of getting any of them. We need to get high draft picks and recruiting officers good enough to spot them-the latter being the reason why we have won only one flag in the last 40 years.

If Kerr is wanting to come to Melbourne, we need to make a play for him. Moreso that Judd. If we have to give up one of our up and coming talls (except Brown) then so be it. If he does the same thing as Judd, and we don't have to pay through the nose (i.e. Pendlebury, Cloke etc.), then we should go for it.

Would also love to have Joel Corey. But I can't see him leaving the Cats. If we don't get any of them, then every single draft pick this year has to be used for an in and under midfielder. We should also look at upgrading our picks by trading.

McLean is actually having a super season this year, remember he's 22 and hasn't still reached his prime.

McLean would be a much better player in a better midfield - he gets the #1 tag week in, week out yet still manages to influence games - he's a very, very good player.

TBH I think Prismall is a bit overrated - Clearly he is too good at VFL level and deserves a spot in the AFL but he isn't going to be the next Ablett Jnr - just a solid contributor.

I think the true sign of a good player is your ability to get yourself back into a game if you're having a shit day. On Sunday Brock looked less than interested and screwed it up big time on occasions but to his credit, he turned it around and was one of the reasons why we won that game. He is a fantastic player, but sometimes the hype becomes too much.

But hands off mofos!:p

Prismal is definitely over rated - soft half forward flanker with good footskills - very little real value.

McLean is a genuine onballer - very higher quality, very little chance of being traded
so im not the only one that thinks their is a reason prismall isnt in teh side ahead of byrnes stokes or tenace

He;d get the #1 tag if he came to Collingwood too.

Doesn't Bruce normally cop the hardest tag?

Off topic but from what I have seen there is so much misconception of Prisimal it's not funny. I have seen him referred to as soft flanker, Hard nosed in and under player, seen him compared to Jordan Lewis etc etc.

I haven't seen a whole heap of him but from what i have seen I'd compare him to Pendles but no where near the same ability in traffic. Or to Dane Swan with better foot skills. His more outside then inside but can get it for himself. His footskills are good and he runs hard.

As for not being able to break into the side at Geelong I think it's probably more that he is two one dimensional his strictly a midfielder. Byrnes, Tenace and David Johnson all spend most if not all of thier time in the 1sts on flanks. Prisimal is also from what i have seen the least defensively accountable of those 4

So he can kick but is slow, not defensive and cant play anywhere other than midfield, and people want us to go all out after this bloke because?

If he is outside who can get his own ball sounds like our players to a T we need a real inside not outside in
