Just not seeing it to be honest, but he does seem to have to tools to get there.
May well be one of those players that doesn't show too much and then bang.

He has although started to look a little puffier in recent weeks.
Can anyone confirm or deny that?
The last time I saw him in person (a couple of weeks ago now) he was looking massive. Has a good frame that will only get better but his work rate needs to rise if he is to make it at top level.

Wouldnt mind seen Brock getting a chance, his wrongfully hated on here for some reason.

hard at the ball and is the sort of player we need atm

I dont see why Carlton MC can't incorporate Brock McLean into our line up in a way that will work. There is no difference in the speed, toughness, kicking skills and tackling between Brock an Luke Ball, they are very similar players, but Collingwood can make Luke work in their lineup, so why can't we do it with brock?

The difference is Luke Ball at his best was better than BM.

They are starting from different points talent wise.

Look I was wrong to say Levi was shit and i apologize but i am not sold on his kicking and his aerobic capacity and ability to run out games is a worry.
I would love to be proven wrong, but even now in his 2nd year in the system he doesn't look close to getting a game with Carlton and i know he's a big lad but still ...

I'm not too sure on that, Brock is pretty talented his 2006/2008 seasons were pretty damn good, certainly matches it with the level Ball showed at Saints. Maybe just some continuity in the midfield like Collingwood have done with Ball would work well. Obviously Brock's confidence is shot at the moment and it is amazing what some confidence could do for him if the MC told him he could have, say, 4 games in midfield with 80% game time.

But the way its looking we wouldn't want to change our midfield its basically the only thing working for us at the moment.

I don't think Big Levi will make it. He doesn't have an aerobic capacity that allows him to ruck all day or grind his opponent down through repeated leads, he isn't a good kick at goal and if he doesn't mark the ball then he's pretty much out of the contest because he isn't good below his knees at picking up a loose ball and doesn't provide enough forward pressure.

RE: Mclean, I think the match committee have had plenty of chances to promote him due to good form at the Bullants and their team selection suggests that he isn't in their plans. I don't agree with their assessment.

I tend to agree with ASMS. Even if we did offload him for a third round pick, we release $300-350,000 from the salary cap and it opens up a list position for Cachia who I think is the type of inside midfielder that is better suited to the way AFL footy has evolved too.

Do you ever get sick of being wrong?

Levi was drafted as a rookie and in his 2nd year in the system gained elevation to our senior list. He then sustained an injury which put a halt to his progress, from which he has now returned.

He's probably not in line for a senior debut just yet and may well never play a senior game but he's certainly better, and closer to a game, than you are claiming.

Because he cant get on the field,Luke Ball clearly is fitter.

Levi, who others have also noted, was looking ok in the Ants as a pinch hitting forward/ruckman (similar to Setanta) and was potentially pushing for a forward slot in the seniors before he suffered a knock to his knee and was ruled out for 8 weeks. He has only been back for 2-3 weeks and will be getting back some of his fitness.

He will get a lot better as time goes on and I think that we will try and keep him on the rookie list for another couple of years at least.

I think that he will be closer to getting a senior slot next year. And the club isnt going to throw away a KPP prospect just because he hasnt turned it on after 2 years on the rookie list are being taken as a top aged recruit.

We are looking at Watson, McCarthy and Mitchell as being major parts of the side from 2013 onwards. If none of them are turning it on in the seniors in 2013 will some of the nuffies on here be calling for them to be delisted or traded as well?

And what happens if Curnow has second year syndrome? Is he gone as well at the end of next year because he hasnt lived up to expectations?

As for Brock... he is contracted to the end of next season. I would like to see if he comes ok over the course of the rest of this season and for all of next. Then I would consider trading him to GWS for anything... but for now... nope... dont want to see him traded.

Just on Mclean, anyone considered Sheedy might come knocking with an offer to join GWS ? He would be guaranteed a game each week there unlike with us and would be a good leader for their kids ?

I wish him well if he stays but he may want to look for pastures new.

I remember quite clearly arguing with you about Adam Hartlett several years ago, i said he was injury prone and not up to it, and you dismissed me then and said he'd be a star in the AFL, or words to that effect.

Point is, at this point in time you cannot say that i am wrong at all or vice versa ???

This is what im thinking.

He should join them would be a good deal for him and a good deal for us (second rounder or so)

So you were posting on here for several years with a different username.

Interesting.

WOW just WOW, Carlton supporter bagging out Essendon's key forward's is akin to Port Adelaide fans having a swipe at our ruck stocks :D

Ohh wow... Comparing the Essendon forward line to the strikers in Italian football is possibly more apt...

or just comparing them to a bunch of hookers is a better analogy because the Essendon forwards seem to hit the ground quicker than a hookers back hits the mattress.

The door is to the left... how about you use it :)

How come Carlton twitter is saying Brock had a great game on the weekend and is pushing for selection?
Maybe his injury wasn't as serious. I haven't heard anything negative about his scans yesterday so it's possible.

Great game would be stretching the truth just a little.
Servicable yes, great no.
It is though hard to look good with the Ants on the narrow grounds.

I disagree with you as well, we're better off keeping him on the list than having a pick as low as you suggested in such a thin draft.
The problem is don't we need to delist 3 players at least. I'm sure the club will use 3 picks possibly even in a thin draft. The club may even use 5 picks if they promote 2. They would need 5 players to move. Brock Mclean manger would be stupid to not find him a home with another extra year on the contract he has, where he get more games. The club will possibly delete Austin. I presume Joseph would try finding a home also. There is 3 spots.Curnow and Tuohy may stay on the list as rookies or spot of a couple others will go or one may be used in those 3 picks.

Yes we do, we'll obviously have a better idea by the end of the year but I reckon it won't be too hard to find three players to delist. Hope they stay at the club but Kerr and Davies may be delisted and then picked up by us in the rookie draft if we can't find enough players to delist.

Kerr and Davies could be put on the rookie list but i doubt they will do that. I personally think both won't make it. Davies will only get a chance if Laidler, Tuohy get injured or Russell get traded. I actual thing we got too many mid size defenders.

Mclean,Houlihan,Bower,Ohailipin,Armfield are more depth and probably like you said would be all better for depth, as they can all play when their body 100%

interesting tweet from block in the last 24 hours using some lovely language for our under age supporters to read and i believe hes had his ass kicked by the ceo.some players just arent that switched on between the ears.
