yup... support the team and forget about the politics and the business of running the club. Us poor old supporters cant really influence the club at the decision making levels and we should be concentrating on the football.

Some people like to think that they influential in determining how the club is run and like to screw around in the politics of it all to make themselves look big.

There are 'supporters' of the Blues that want to see us go back to the win a flag at all costs and the brown paper bags under the table days. They want to see the club buy in anyone that they think is good and get rid of anyone that they think is shit... regardless of whether we can afford it or not and regardless of the form of the player.

Brock has had a good second half to the season and has shown us why Ratts rated him so highly... unfortunately... those so called supporters also hate anyone that Ratts got into the club.

As for the rest of your post, I agree. Haters are going to hate on McLean no matter what he does or how well he plays. When we got McLean, I was stoked. I was at the beach over that summer break and I remember buying a magazine (can't remember which one) with a pic in it of Brock in Blues training gear. It was the first pic I had seen of him in Carlton colors. I couldn't stop looking at that pic and reading the article. Why, you ask? Because I knew what kind of player Brock was/is and how much value he would add to our team. He's as tough as they come, wins the ball when it's there and works his ass off. He's a real contributor, and those who follow this club seriously like I do know that he's a quality player. You can really see the who the haters/halfwits are whenever Brock's name is mentioned. He's had his share of injuries, and he's not the fastest guy in the world, so there are those who always chip in with bullshit comments like "he's a spud, we never should have traded for him" and "get rid of him, he adds nothing to the team". It seems that some people would rather have a team of track stars who can do fancy things with the ball rather than an actual football team made up of real football players who work their asses off for those so-called "supporters" every week.

McLean played his ass off in the second half of the season, and is one of our best "glue guys" who do the hard stuff. If you can't at least appreciate that and admit that he's deserving of a new contract then you're right, you're not easily pleased. Either that or you're one of the haters who hates McLean for some reason and can't admit when you're wrong, which you are in this case, plain and simple.

I'm guessing it's the second one.

ahhhhh the real world. I've heard so much about it but I can never seem to get there. Well off to my 9-5, commute into the city and back out, might go out for drinks with friends later. Won't be the same though, still daydreaming about the real world

Not sure even that will be good enough. Brock could develop the ability to fly, and halfwits like this guy would scoff and go "so he can fly... that's nothing special... it's not like he has x-ray vision... we never should have traded for him".

Seriously though, it's embarrassing to admit to being a Carlton fan when flogs like this guy just start spewing forth bullshit to try and justify hating a bloke who has been a great contributor to this club and has proven them wrong. I get that it's never nice to have to admit that you're wrong, but really, it's better to admit it than to create an entire fantasy world to live in so that you can keep up the delusion that you're right.

Geeze Gardy you have been playing so nice lately don't get riled up and spoil everything. If you had ended that post at "how did that work out" it would have been a good response. The rest was angry and unnecessary and the last sentence was just silly.

However the rest of you guys should be well aware that questioning someone's credentials as a supporter is insulting and very hard not to take personally.

Yeh & we have just signed Mick Malthouse. If we don't win a premiership in the next 3 years will you be adopting the same attitude? I don't think there is anything you like about our club. It must be difficult following a team that you despise so much about.

What is a cozy little clique camp on McLean...

McLean was far from our worst this year, and not far off our best in the second half of the season..Does acknowledging that make me a part of a clique.

We could do much worse than signing McLean for two years that is for sure...
