I bet Ellard gets his spot. And keeps it.

I really rate Ellard. I agree Ellard will play this week and also is a better option than McLean. But I was saying with Curnow and Carrazzo both injured we arnt making 3 changes to the midfield this week and I would be very very suprised if Mclean was dropped this week.

Has he ever been a good player? I seem to remember him being a promising type rather than a consistent gun midfielder.

Haha, we wish

Sorry but some serioius delusion early in this thread. Forget Melbourne, he wouldn't be picked up by anyone.

Well he might......for a trade of a can of coke and a paket of twisties. About a fair trade for whats his worth at the moment. :D

Sorry Brock, but time's up. You were great in your day, but your day's over. Thanks for your efforts and good luck in the VFL.

How can someone be so good at VFL and no good at AFL??? Mature age draftee hopefuls dominating VFL must hate the bloke.

if he is in the team this friday night I will be dissapointed in the coaching staff, He has clearly shown time and time again he cannot keep up with the pace of AFL & therefor puts our whole team structure out of place. Bring in Ellard he has much more to offer.

Scapegoating him over our 30 point loss won't erase the shame of losing to Essendon.

I fully expect him to play this week due to a number of injury-related omissions.

Move on.

kthxbye.

I too expect him to play on Friday night.

He really wasn't that bad against Essendon, and he most certainly wasn't our worst performed on the day.

I thought he was serviceable, but he's incredibly slow. This may well count against him in a big way at Subiaco against the Dockers, so we need to be careful.

The MC know Brock, they are well aware of his limitations. I refuse to believe that he'd be brought back into the seniors to show he has something to offer, only for that to be shelved a week later.

He wasn't terrible.

Should play next round against GWS and I can't see much sense in including him, omiting him and then including him 3 weeks in a row. He needs continuity and a genuine opportunity to prove he's worth persevering with beyond 2012.

Taking Mclean to Paterson staduim would be a huge mistake, this ground will show up any players that lack speed and certainly Mclean lacks speed in a major way, Ellard is a better option, be surprised if the MC did take him to Perth.

Also would be highly surprised if Mclean is still on our list in 2013, don't expect he will play more than 4 games this year.

Yep, talking too much sense for BF Mac, 4 games might be a stretch even unless we have a few more midfielders go down.

We're losing 3-4 players this week to injury as it is. Some have suggested we drop Bower and Brock as well - is making 6 changes too much of an overreaction?

I don't think he's part of our long term plans but as Jeremias said, the MC promoted him for a reason. Any ground will show him up for legspeed but that's not why he's in the team.

BTW, Ellard would most likely be one of the 4 inclusions regardless.

In Ratts we trust.

Agree with the above. I am sure Lyon will be telling the dockers midfield to be running off Brock at every opportunity.

At this stage the only 2 definite outs are Carrazzo & Laidler expect the others to play, Thornton & Bower should replace Bower & Mclean

Dont know about an over reaction as some would argue that some of these changes are a necessity for us to be better balanced and equipped to beating Freo this week.

We could have 4/5 forced changes due to injury
Carrazzo - shoulder
Yarran - toe
Laidler - knee
Curnow - ankle
Bower/Robinson - ABI....(only joking but form could be an issue)

We might need to either shuffle the deck chairs or roles within the team to cover some holes or bring in a couple of extra players to replace some with poor form or to help balance the team.

Possible Ins could be - Walker, Armfield, Ellard, Thornton, Joseph, Warnock.

A lot of questions to asked.

Thornton could help us up forward and enable us to keep Bower and Jamison down back or he could play down back and we drop Bower if we feel Walker can play a full game up forward.

Can Lucas go back and play Laidler's role or will they give Tuohy that role.

Does Joseph come in to get Ballantyne when forward if Yarran is out.

Ellard for Carrazzo appears to be a certainty, Armfield if right just comes back in also possibly for Mclean as he was in great form before Brock replaced him.

My point is we have 19 players who have played every game so far. That will change as players are forced to miss. Nevertheless, the match committee are striving for a continuity throughout the season.

Which is why I'm suggesting it's an over-reaction, when the same outfit (plus Brock) comfortably won the first 3 games.

This.

McLean to Patterson stadium = mistake IMO.

With Yazz, Laids and Carrots all missing, I can't see Bower or McLean being dropped.

Looking forward to the teams being announced.
