The game is changing again, it is much more contested.
If teams keep clogging up the stoppages, and umpires let them, then we will need McLean.

If the game is the way it is then how did a player like tuck dominate the hawks the other day?

we played melbourne ffs.i was there too and he is still slow and his hands are not lightning quick.lets see how he stands up against quality opponents coz he didnt have one on sunday and if he did they didnt play close to each other, lets see how he looks when pacy midfielders are leaving him for dead.as far as afl teams go they dont get any weaker than melbourne

Who are the pacy midfielders of whom you speak? When you look at the midfielders who are travelling the best this year names like Watson, Kennedy, Kerr, Priddis, Mitchell, Pendlebury (probably the quickest of this lot, but not pacy by any stretch of the imagination) come to mind.

As Lance Romance has rightly pointed out the game has changed a bit this year, with the run & spread which we are so good at, being partially superseded by the "rolling mauls" which Lance has referred to. Not just in our games, but generally across the competition this year.

At the moment having a strong body & reasonable hands is more important to a midfielder than being "pacy". Much of the run is provided by HBFs or wingmen in the Yarran, Simpson, Shaw, Dempsey mould than by midfielders.

Another impressive performance last night.

Has been one of our best players over the past few weeks which is a huge credit to him.

Brock was all but on the scrap heap but he's worked really hard to get back to where he is, which is a testament to his attitude and personality and he deserves a heap of credit for the way he's worked to get back.

With every game I become more and more convinced that we'd be nuts to get rid of him at the end of the season. He can seriously play and, if he remains fit, he could be a huge bonus for us going forward.

Hope he keeps playing well, would be brilliant at Gold Coast for a trade and a draft pick:thumbsu:.

Who would get our contested possessions? if the game keeps going the way it is going it would be madness to trade or de-list him.

If Mclean can keep up this form and stay healthy, we might keep him on a one year deal like we did with Bower and Thornton.

Curnow is looking less likely to be promoted to the senior list. Captain Obvious says Ed needs a big finish to the year.

You understand he is out of contract, while he is performing club needs to trade him now that he has some value.
and what do you think another club would give up?

Brock is a better option than Curnow right now for mine.

He's gathered 25+ possessions and lead our clearance work for 3 weeks in a row now. Maybe, just maybe the trade could pay some sort of dividends in the end.

Imagine having he and Murphy in the same squad and letting Juddy roam free while Carrazzo tags and blocks for Murph.

In a few weeks we'll have...

C: Simpson, Judd, Carrazzo
Foll: Warnock, Murphy, McLean
IC: Scotland, Robinson, Walker, Ellard

I think he would be an asset at GC guns seeing as they have to offload some kids off the list.
not anymore than he could be for us. Are we in a rebuild phase?

They have Rischitelli and the young kids coming through to not need Brock. GWS would sort of be interested.
True but i would have thought given that GWS have shown some older bodies and experience are an advantage.E.g McDonald and Power.

Oh dear. Our depth is fine and better than any in the comp when it's hungry for contest along with a solid core of senior players. We're missing a huge chunk of our best 22.

We were seriously having a look at the premiership 6 weeks ago, I hope you're joking about the rebuild.
