After friendly debate with a North supporter in the AA thread regarding whos individual season has been better (pray after this thread i dont jynx Grundys remaining games), i thought i’d see what others thought.

I think its extremely close, and Grundys atleast been as good as Goldstein in 2015. The North supporter rated Goldsteins 2015 a league above Grundys 2018.

With Grundy being more of an accumulater and Goldstein finding more hitouts per game(aswell as doing plenty of work around the ground too) i think it makes for a decent debate.

Goldstein was probably better but not by a heap, and that was Goldy in his prime, Grundy's a pup as far as rucks go.

To be fair we also need to factor in the new 3rd man up rule, makes life a lot easier for ruckmen.

Yeah third man up rule isn't something I've considered before. Goldy had no protection, how he had 82 hitouts or whatever it was in that game is outrageous.

Goldstein, easily. His 2015 season was an absolute masterclass. Grundy is only 24 though, plenty of time. It's crazy how good he is for how young he is. Many ruckmen don't seem to hit their straps until their late 20s.
