Quoted for humour

Hope his face looks like this on Saturday too

Prolly quoted a hundred times already but all this night needs now is a -

" GIVE US A WAVE , REBECCA !!!!!!!!!!! "

Surprised Quatermain didn't get Ablett out onto the podium to ask where he was going. I'm sure he could make it a little bit more awkward...:o

You do realise the saints finished 1st and 6th the years Harvey won his Brownlows?
Yeah, but Harves didn't have guys like Burke, Loewe, Winmar etc taking votes off him.....wait, wut?

it is wrong when Judd can pick up 3 votes for a 24 disposal game and 2 votes for a 22 disposal game however swan has 4 or 5 30+ touches games and did not poll votes

Carlton are a low possession side, Collingwood are not

Judd wins clearances, Swan does not

You don't win brownlow's gathering 40 uncontested possessions outside packs otherwise Bowden would have won 1.

I just can't work this one out.

Do umpires look at stats after a game? It's really hard to work out.
Even when he hacks the ball at 40% he still gets 3 votes.

Really embarassing stuff for the AFL
Yes. They look at the stats before voting.

And for the next five years. :thumbsu:

I wouldn't of been 'annoyed' as much as I am if someone such as Ablett, Sandilands or Hodge won tonight as they would've been deserving to win as they'll all had excellent an excellent season. Judd won simply because he was the lone star amongst duds at Carlton and he just racked up points. Where-as the likes of Swan, Ablett and Sandilands have many other stars in their team which were able to snatch away points. Can't believe Jarryd Blair and Leon Davis got votes over Swan, load of crap and I've lost all respect for the medal.

I hope (cant wait) to see Swanny with his Norm Smith and Premiership Medallion around his neck showing the umps how stupid they really are. :thumbsu:

Exactly. Judd ended up with 30 votes, the next best carlton player had what ?? 9 votes. The top 5 had 2 geelong players and 2 collingwood players. Ablett 26, Selwood 21, Swan 23, Pendlebury 21. Judd not a worthy winner.

when has the Brownlow ever been the best player.

there is a long and illustrious list of players never to have won it and many of them walk up starts into the top 10 players ever.

G Ablett Snr

W Carey

L Matthews

just for starters.

Unlucky for Gaz & Swanny, both absolute champions.
Judd had a good year, but let's face the facts.
If he was in a team with 2-3 A graders he wouldn't have come close.

There needs to be a shift in emphasis from the Brownlow to the AFL MVP award. Either that or the Brownlow needs to be voted on by the players and/or professional non-biased pundits.

The 3-2-1 brownlow voting system, just as it did in 2000, coughed up a winner tonight that whilst undoubtedly a great player was not considered a worthy winner by anyone in the industry and struggled to make the top 22 in the All Australian Team.

Unfortunately in the end anomalies like this undermine the prestige of the award and shouldn't be allowed to happen by the voting system.

Needs to be looked at.

Rebacca Twigley - I think his games changed. At West Coast he had the support of Kerr, Cousins and Cox putting it down his throat.
