Reckon Cripps seriously unlucky not to win it again …
The award has become a joke. Cripps got 19 votes FFS.....he had a shocker of a year, as did his team. Ed Richards was brilliant most of the year and got 11. You've just got to accept it for what it has become....a dinky award with votes given by people who have little idea of what they're doing....and don't have access to any stats so they just give votes to whomever they see around the ball a lot ...and players they've seen on TV and know their names.

Rowell seems to have been recognised for the defensive aspects of his game. Nearly 9 tackles and 30 pressure acts to go with 25+ disposals and 14 contested possessions average. Daycare on the other hand just 4 tackles and 15 pressure acts. So it is actually good to see the umps voting for a player who does something other than chase cheap kicks all around the ground.

I didn’t watch, but I’m glad to see someone deserving actually won for a change. I don’t know who worked with him to change the way he plays, but he really improved this year.

What a legend. Decent human, not self centred, and is un-categorically himself unlike most of his peers.
Yeah, he got a few cheap 3's. But he's so underrated and deserves recognition unlike the wank-fest that is Bailey Sniff and Daicos.
