Geelong with 5 and the doggies with 4 were the only clubs with as many or more players over 10 votes than Carlton...

Chris Judd 16
Brendan Fevola 11
Marc Murphy 11
Nick Stevens * 10

Although Stevo was ineligable it's a good showing for the future for us.

Gibbs on 7 in his second season of AFL and Kreuzer with 1 vote in his first season both deserve honourable mentions as far as I am concerned.

I cant complain about this year at all anymore :)

The future is just going to get much better for the blues...

Excellent result for the club polling 68 votes overall.

We beat the Filth with 65 votes & the Bombers with 45 votes :D

Chris Judd 16

Brendan Fevola 11

Marc Murphy 11

Nick Stevens 10

Bryce Gibbs 7

Jarrad Waite 5

Heath Scotland 2

Simon Wiggins 2

Adam Bentick 1

Matthew Kreuzer 1

Andrew Carrazzo 1

Cameron Cloke 1

TOTAL 68

Aside from Fevola and Judd (or course), I was so pleased for Gibbs and Murphy, and that they polled so well last night. Echo your thoughts Dramoth that the future is looking very good for us.

Yep. Gibbs didn't poll a vote till round 14, but to pick up 7 votes in 8 games is a great effort for a 19 year old. :thumbsu:

I was extremely pleased by Gibbsy's and Murph's showings last night, great effort by the both of them. :thumbsu:

I thought Stevens votes were fairly reflective of his season, in that he'd be best on one week, then three or four quite weeks, then get another best on. If he can find consistency next year then we will be much better off.

kerr, judd, ablett & selwood are the four which I'll be putting money on at the start of next year :thumbsu: If kerr gets traded to a club which will win more often then ill be putting the most $$ on him. Just gotta hope he doesn't get reported

No.1 Draft Pick wins Brownlow last night.

And we have 3 of them.

Future looks oh so exciting.

Where does this leave someone like Andrew Walker, was 2nd in that draft to Cooney, and there was talk last year that he was better than Cooney, i know tex has been injured this year, but can we expect him to go close to a brownlow one day?

I wouldn't have thought so.

We should judge Walker i think fully next year. Providing he doesn't break down 09 should be a year where Tex makes a name for himself. the 03 Draft was pretty weak but Tex has done things sparringly so far that make me think that he's good enough not to win the brownlow becasue simply there are others that are better but to poll well and be a future B&F

Rubbish count. I stayed up to watch the most unworthy winner of the brownlow since wankanean :D

I'm really glad Carlton didn't take Cooney, he goes missing far to much. When ever you put a tagger on him. He won't get a touch.

Good post and agree that 09 is important to Tex, Maybe Ratten will play him as a permonent hff where he can play attacking football rather than the negative crap that pagan had him playing ever week.

It certainly raised some questions.

How does Bartel not get a vote for 37 possies?
How did Cooney get a vote in the second half of the season at all?

Cooney is a very good player, but it will take quite a bit to convince me he is the best and fairest player in the comp this year.

Congrats to Gibbs, Murph, Stevens, Fev and Judd. Not bad for a team that lost more than it won.:thumbsu:

yeah agreed it was rubbish. i thought hodge was an outside chance at it and then he only gets 2 votes. nothing against wiggins but he got as many votes as hodge and i know who i would choose first:confused:

As much as I might get slammed for saying this....Richo should have gotten over Cooney.

I didn't think Ablett would win esp with other players essentially taking votes off each other and the three games he missed did wind up hurting him.

Judd did well, Bit surprised Fev got as many as he did playing at Full Forward but I didn't see what votes he got as I was at work. Did he poll in any of those Essendon/Collingwood games?

i dont understand how grigg didn't get any votes in the 2nd game against Port, he played a blinder!!
and that north vs cats game. Hale getting the 3 votes even though they got flogged. hahaha..

cant wait for 09'
Gibbs to step up and take the Charlie :) bookmark it!!

He did kick 8 didnt he? Fair effort against the best defence in the league and the fact that they got flogged makes it sound better to me
