How about a curly one

Thomas to win Collingwood votes...($10)

Thoughts?

Collingwood is a 3 horse race. I'd say pendles is the favourite, but thomas is a better than 10-1 chance.

Also seen o'keefe is down to $7 for sydney. Still think he is exceptional value at that price.

Also like Goldstein @13

How many votes do you have Goodes on Blueandgold? Goodes has had 15 BOG's the last 4 years and even polled 13 votes last year in what I thought was a fairly poor year by his standards. I think he has been far more influential this season.

West Coast :
Priddis 11
Embley 8
Cox 8
Kerr 5

Sydney :
O'Keefe 12
Goodes 10
Bolton 8

I have Goodes on six but I am sure the umpires have him on more. He can certainly play a lot better than he has been this year.

I've got him (Goodes) sitting on 10 but I may have over-rated his performance in a couple of games. I've only given him one BOG (round 3) but other than that just a couple of 2's and 1's. He does poll well though!

I've got Murphy in my sights but most people I have spoken to have brought up Judd's voting history. I would think after last year, the umpires will be more aware of not just giving Judd votes because Murphy (in my view) has been the most consistent and best performing Carlton player all year.

I agree with Collingwood being a 3 horse race. I've also have Pendlebury as my favourite amongst the 3, but Thomas has lifted his game this year and received a fair bit of media attention (whether that has any impact on the umpires looking for certain players, I do not know).

I also gave Redden the one this week but I think Black and his voting history might see him safe.

The last third of the season is going to be crucial.

I was wondering this myself whether Thomas had done enough. I feel he has but only enough to secure the one.

3. Swan
2. Pendlebury
1. Thomas

Also after the couple of back chats M. Murphy gave towards the end of the game, I'm only giving him the one compared to most giving him 2/3. It's scary how consistently good his been this year and the potential amount of votes he could be on so I feel only giving him the one here won't hurt him.

I've also got Redden down for the one against the hawks. He's been very good and if not the Lions best player in a few of there closer losses. Does anyone feel he can pinch a couple of 1's and 2's here and there? To me he poses as Blacks main danger if things don't go his way come brownlow night and they fall Redden's way. The unknown is Redden has never polled so there is no history to go by.

Yeah Redden is creeping onto my radar, even though he is only on 2 votes I have him "potentially polling" in 6 games. I'd stay and wait on the Brisbane market at this stage though, I still think Black will win (7 votes atm).

I posted last week that O'Keefe was value at $13, and after a possible 3 vote effort he has been slashed into $7.

That is still value though, I have him leading Sydney by 2.

In regards to Collingwood, I have:
Swan 12.25 (13)
Pendlebury 14.25 (14)
Thomas 10.75 (10)

So yeah a 3-horse race with probably a little bit of value for Thomas at $10.

I'm doing an update of my sheet, and I've got a couple of asterixed games. If anyone can help me out, I need votes for:

Round 5
Brisbane v St Kilda

Round 10
Fremantle v St Kilda

Round 13
Essendon v North Melbourne

Cheers

1 - M.Hurley / B.Harvey
*crucial game for North team votes, can easily be shuffled*

Nm v EFC -
3 Wells
2 Hurley
1 Stanton
For mine. Harvey could get a vote, too, thought he missed opportunities to put us away (as did Stanton), didn't notice Swallow a great deal but he was busy, could get in there.

Hurley clearly the force behind our fightback through the middle two quarters, Wells simply unstoppable.

I really like your votes. :thumbsu:

However, my thoughts are that Mitchell is too high.
However, I thought that last year too

I also have Dal Santo leading the Saints, simply because Goddard has never polled well.

Thomas to win Collingwood votes...($10)

Thoughts?

I actually think he is a very good chance. Doesn't talk back often/at all and plays the flashy style that is sure to catch the umpires eye.

Two horse race between him and Pendlebury in my book.

After updating my spreadsheet with 3-2-1 on every game this season here is my leaderboard, I must have majorly over-rated Mitchell's season so am keen to get any feedback on people's breakdowns for him?

Mitchell 23
Judd 22
Murphy 20

Thanks for the responses CMac11, Grimmjow, Slattery 20, asanque. :thumbsu:

Yeah I think Cheat was BOG, Zaharakis, Sloane good as well. Didn't think S. Thompson stood out?

Hard game for votes IMO. Monfries is a definite 3 or 2 but after that there's about 6 players that could share the 2 and 1.

3. A. Monfries
2. R. Sloane - Adelaide's best over 4 quarters. Thought he was slightly ahead of Thompson.
1. D. Zaharakis - Had a big influence on the game after HT

Thompson, Petrenko, Hocking and Stanton were good I thought.

Long time follower of the Brownlow and have decided to start getting involved in some of the chat around here as I plan on giving it a real crack from the get go next season. :)

Anyway votes for today's games:

Collingwood vs Carlton

3. S Pendlebury (2.5)
2. D Thomas (2.5)
1. C Judd (1)

Hard to get the order right, as you could make a case for either Pendles or Daisy for the 3 and I wouldn't be all that surprised if Judd popped up for the two. For mine, Pendles polling history gets him over the line in front of Daisy, and Daisy's productive last quarter (goal included) just edges Judd out of the way.

Richmond vs Gold Coast

3. G Ablett (2.75)
2. J Brennan (2.25)
1. M Rischitelli (0.5)

Ablett over Brennan due to polling history, yet Brennan's decent PS as well as two vital goals in the fourth could see Brennan taking the chocolates. Newman (0.25) or Iles (0.25) may sneak in there somewhere, but would think Richmond losing and Iles being a first year player might see them both miss out.

St Kilda vs West Coast

3. L Montagna (3)
2. M Priddis (1.25)
1. N Naitanui (1.25)

Montagna will easily take the 3, played a good game and kicked the sealer in the fourth quarter. Aside from the 3 though, the rest of the game is a bit tricky to call. Priddis' polling ability is something that is drastically underrated and I wouldn't be surprised to see him take out the Charlie this year. Finished the game strongly again and am expecting the umpires to notice him again. Gave Naitanui the 1 due to playing a great game with flashes of brilliance and kicked that amazing goal in the fourth where he roved his own ruck contest. Priddis over Naitanui due to polling history only. Strange giving two West Coast players votes in a loss however I think Naitanui has to feature in their somewhere and would leave Dal Santo (0.5) out for Priddis due to polling history.

Melbourne vs Port Adelaide

3. R Petterd (2.75)
2. C Sylvia (2.25)
1. S Martin (1)

25 touches and 3 goals with 1 of them in the third (which is where I think most of the votes will come from) gets Petterd the 3. Sylvia played well and kicked a 50m goal in the third (plus not bad polling history) gets him 2 votes. Martin played well, booted one in the third and one late in the fourth which should score him a vote.

Thoughts/discrepancies?
