Discussion Brownlow thoughts?

Surely this year has to be the best chance a Saints had since Harves was in his prime in the late 90's. 4 AA midfielders (counting Goddard) and we should get shit loads of votes as a team. Who does everyone reckon will win? Who do we hope to win? Who did we bet on?

Personally I think Ablett, Swan and Hayes have been the best 3 mids this year and will come top 3. I would love nothing more to see Lenny take it home, but at the same time I feel a bit sorry for junior as it will be one of footys great injustices if he doesn't get one after the 3 years he's had. So I'm hoping for a Hayes/Ablett tie.

Betting wise, I barely ever bet but the odds on Hayes were too tempting. Was thinking about betting outright ($31?) but in the end chickened out and put $30 on him to top St Kilda's votes at $8.25

Dal, Lenny, Goddard and Joey will take too many votes from each other

I think Dal Santo will poll our most votes, always polls well, even when he has an off year

My tip is Goodes, because he has nobody else on his team who would cosistantly take votes from him.

On the other hand though, will Sydney even get enough votes overall for him to realistically win? Looking at his stats he's only had 3-4 good games in wins, probably not enough. Plus O'Keefe, Shaw and Jude Bolton will do okay (especially O'Keefe) you'd think.

Yeah, but in most of their losses, he still played pretty well.
There are 5 games where he should get 2-3 votes and about 10 where he's a chance, which should see him ending with about 20 votes

Hayes and Dal Santo are looking a chance but honestly after his last 3 I would say Yablett has it sewn up, and well deserved. Hayes is in the middle of a hot run but his good games got less consistent as the season went on, same for Dal. Expect Swan to start polling well soon.

Hoping no one here bet on Black, hot favourite to poll highly and only 3 votes as yet. Don't think he'll catch Brown for most votes at Brisbane.

Hayes will have to poll in games he doesn't deserve from now on to win, and hope Ablett misses out when he does (which looks VERY unlikely atm). Same for Dal.
