Degree of difficulty meant that it had to be between Josh or Bolton. All Draper did was run straight at goal!
Just don't get how these awards are judged, although I did agree with Georgiades MOTY.

His goal was straight out of the centre, directly in front and he didn't do all the work himself.
Daicos did it all, won the ball up against the boundary, beat an opponent and nailed it from the pocket.
Better in every measure.

Let’s be honest that goal was only nominated because he’s a ruck. It’s a very common midfielders goal. Should be the most skilful goal not the most awkward.

Who the **** gives these awards, how did Daicos not get goal of the year, almost as bad as Howe not winning mark of the year.

I accept it will probably never happen, but AFL need to change the voting system so that players who are not mid-fielders get a look in for the Brownlow (say by weighting the votes according to field position or having three editions of the Briwnlow - one for mids, one for backs, one for forwards). It's becoming more boring as each year goes by to see the monopoly held by the mids. I guess there is mild interest in seeing which mid wins out over the others?

They actually shortened the clip of Daicos' goal during the presentation bit, cutting out the start where he gathered and handballed ahead to get around a player on the line.
As soon as i saw that, i knew something was up. Makes the goal look simpler, less special, and Draper's looks better of course by comparison. Such a fix.
