Hi guys, just a quick questions from an Essendon supporter interested in your views on this season's fantastic success of the cats. After the joy of the team success wears down a bit (which I would hope and think will not be for a long time yet), what will be the higher honour in the eyes of the club? The fact that Jimmy Bartel won the Brownlow, or that Garry Ablett Junior won the B&F in a premiership year. With such a fantastic side, to win the B&F is a tremendous effort, and then to win the Brownlow is a tremendous effort regardless of the team success, I guess it is just made a lot sweeter by the team success.

I'd be very interested to get your opinions.

Well I think the winning margin of the B&F really does show you who was the best Geelong player in 2007. Jimmy has always been a favourite with the umpires and Gazza never has and probably never will - yet still managed 20 brownlow votes. Jimmy is an elite midfielder but Gary is just something else.

I rate the brownlow over the club b&f, it just seem to me that the same people poll very well within the clubs, were with the brownlow you have to keep impressing the umps, last night gary ablett won by a giant margin, and yet jimmy won the brownlow?,I think that faviourate sons often get the votes IMO, and evan though this is gary first,It is only backed up by the fact that james hird won another, somw people wont like what im saying but it is just the way i feel about it.

Ablett should have won the Brownlow, and the B&F and the AFL MVP proves this. But Bartel has been nearly as good this season.

I rate the Brownlow and the B&F about level. But Gaz should have won the Brownlow anyway, umpires are hardly impartial when it comes to giving votes, the way a player speaks to them should have very little to do with their voting.

I rate the B&F for getting guys that did a job some recognition.

ie the coach says go out and do x and I dont care if you dont get a kick. If you do it and it helps the side it gets recognition from the coaches.
