For those unaware, Bruce Beresford-Redman was a reality show producer, and co-creator of shows including "Pimp My Ride" and "The Contender"

In 2010, his wife was murdered on a family holiday to Cancun, Mexico

There is little evidence pointing to him as the murderer, yet he is still standing trial (into its 2nd year)

Forensic investigators and even the judge didn't want this to go to trial, saying there's no way he did it, but there was a lot of pressure from the Mexican government, it appearing that they are attempting to protect Cancun as a tourist destination


There is, however, numerous accounts of extortion on western tourists, westerners being found dead under suspicious circumstances, and sexual assault
Some of these have even been covered up by the hotel he and his family were staying at


A lot of the trial has been kept away from the media, making it hard to see what is happening, the only real free documentation coming in the tv series "48 hours"

When you talk about the judge and the forensic investigators are you referring to the extradition judge from the US and not the trial judge. And the forensics US ones like the FBI and no local authorities. It's not like the US to bow to pressure if they don't think their citizen is going to get a fair trial.

So what was the purpose of the pressure form the Mexicans, I see the intent but what did they swing back on to imply the pressure?

I'm referring to the Mexican judge, and Mexican government
The crime was committed in Mexico, and it was them who decided there was enough evidence (there was none) to stand trial

I've searched high and low on the net, and cannot find any info on the extradition in 2011, or the current trial

All I can assume is, it's being covered up by the Mexican government to ensure Cancun stays as a tourist destination
