Could I suggest that if you are joining the live stream for the first time today, you go to settings and put it on 1.5. You can understand what is being said, but it's not so tedious and also, when the sitting ceases for the day, you can no longer access the video.
Good suggestion normally.

But beware that speeding up recordings of court proceedings risks missing critical context in relation to witnesses giving evidence - specifically in this case the bumbling nature of Lehrmann's responses and long delays in responses to cross examination.

In other words - it is not just the words being said but the manner in which those words are being used in context that is critical to getting a full picture of the credibility of Mr Lehrmann's evidence.

This is how it's going for Bruce for those with other things to do..

He could have had time to do a few scribbles and whatever, do you know exactly how long he was in there for? I can't recall.
It was like 45 minutes in the building IIRC. If it was just scribbling notes it could have been done in the Uber on the way home.

ha ha "You just fabricated that Mr. Lehrmann!"
You mean this?

Where Lehrmann might have been breaching national security by accessing likely classified/highly confidential French submarine contract info when there possibly appears to be no need for him to have done so, given that he was finishing up in his job before Parliament sat again, and already completed all his work in the ministers office.

'...
THE QUESTION TIME FOLDERS

He was grilled by Ten’s barrister Dr Matt Collins SC why he needed to make notes early that morning when he had been drinking for several hours.

“Can you identify any information that you learned either at The Dock or 88MPH on the 22nd of March that was relevant to the work you were doing for the minister concerning question time briefs,” Dr Collins asked.

“Not now, I don’t have those folders,” Mr Lehrmann said.

Mr Lehrmann added that the information related to the “French submarine contract”.

“On the stand on Monday, Mr Lehrmann admitted he was finishing up the following week, he had already completed all his work in the minister’s office and parliament wasn’t sitting the following week.

“Mr Lehrmann there was no need whatsoever to be writing on Question Time folders at 2am on the 23rd of March 2019,” Dr Collins asked.

“I disagree,” Mr Lehrmann said.
...'

In the second meeting with Fiona Brown and on her notes, Brown asked him what else he did in the office other than drink whiskey and he said "I don't want to get in to that."

How is that response even close to being acceptable ? You're in your boss's office drinking at 2:30am Saturday morning and you tell them you don't want to explain why? For real?

My Lehrmann appears to be so compromised, that even if he succeeds in completing a legal degree and is still eligible and successful in being admitted to the bar to practice as a defence lawyer, how is any crim ever going to trust him defending them. Possibly fearing he might be the equivalent of a Lawyer X?

I might have to speed it up even more (to 2X) to catch up before things resume at 2:15pm AEST today. (in 12 minutes).

some of the best lawyers in the world are complete pieces of shit and habitual liars.

you could argue he has all the makings.

Yep.

But more importantly the question will not be asked because a competent barrister, and Dr Collins is one of Australia's best, never asks a question he does not know the answer to.

In any case, the question won't be asked because it is immaterial to the case. And Brucey is doing a fine in tripping himself up in exposing multiple lies and mis-statements he made in court, in affidavits, to his fellow workers and the channel 7 Spotlight program.

They should never let anyone into the building at that time of the morning

What do you think is going on when 2 people walk in drunk
LOL.

You obviously don't follow Federal politics and haven't read the Report of the Human Rights Commission into Commonwealth Parliamentary Workplaces that was commissioned by the Morrison government after the Bruce Lehrmann rape allegations surfaced.

Drunkenness seems to have been almost a mandatory requirement for political staffers and MPs working in Parliamentary House under the previous administration.

Being sober seems to have been the exception to the rule in 2019.

Oh I'm sure Bruce and his supporters would love to see the proceedings speeded up. ;)

Personally I'm loving seeing him being put on a rotisserie constructed of his own flipping lies and being burn't to a crisp on a long slow burn at maximum heat.

... it is immaterial to the case ...
The only evidence that could possibly support his final position (after the other positions have all been shown to be lies) as to the reason he went to PH at 2am on a saturday morning, the only hard evidence that could support his claim that he didn't go there for the purpose of sexual activity with Higgins, is "immaterial to the case". Righto

Collins isn't able to force the issue in a civil case but the police damn well should have. And if it did exist, Leerman would do very well to produce it at some point during this flogging!

Dr Collins: So your response was to ask for cocaine to be delivered to you?

Leerman: Cocaine's a hell of a drug!

Yeah, no culture of alcohol use now, but there was from 2013-2022, but there wasn't from 2007-2013, but there was from 1996-2007. Righto

This would appear to support my theory that he was fired for having (at the time, assumed consensual) sex in the office.

You've got a semi-naked girl found in the suite, a cleaner called in for an out of hours clean and told to look for condoms, and then Bruce answering like that in an interview with the CoS....

I still think the "security breach" was used as an excuse for firing him and not having to formally document that he was fired for having sex in the office suite.
