He wont' be touring after SA.

I was referring to this.

Saw a live version of Rising by sting, with the boss in the audience. In fact it was a tribute to springsteen by various artists, and Obama himself may have been sitting next to him

Yeah Kennedy Centre Honours 2011 I think.
John Mellencamp did BIT USA at the same show.

No, just a fan of all types of music.
Saw him live in England a onetime ago and during his recent Australian tour. His portfolio of music s huge

Which show in Aus?
What are your favourite songs?

Went to the melbourne show on the 20th
I like his slower songs like I'm on fire, down by the river, and songs like the rising, which builds up to a fever pitch cresendo.

There were no shows in Melbourne on the 20th.
24th/26th/27th.

I see

69) American Skin
Album: Live In New York City (2001)
Previous rank: 42 (down 27)

The story of 41 shots is pretty grim. It was written after NYPD officers shot a black man dead after they thought he was reaching for a gun after they asked him for I.D. Yeah, that’s pretty bad, but it gets worse. They proceeded to shoot him 41 times. The six officers were cleared of murder.

Now, being the person Springteen is, he decided to write a song about it. It caused a lot of backlash, and when he was playing at MSG during the Reunion Tour, they refused to provide security in protest.

It’s a fairly dark song. The music and lyrics leave me feeling a sense of anger and resentment, and I guess that’s what Bruce was going for. The lyrics are powerful and provocative, and the music builds as the song progresses and Bruce pulls out a great solo while wielding that famous Butterscotch Telecaster. Then, it all calms down again with Clarence blowing softly on that sax with the backdrop of Max’s cymbals, Garry’s bass and Bruce’s vocal.

It's an intense song and you can see that, very, very powerful song.

Superb track, absolutely chills me to the point of getting misty. It's Stephen King/Peter Straub in a song.

One like is not enough...

Try post some more soon if I can be bothered. Once I get inside the top 50, most of the reviews are written and I will just add to them so it means less work :D

Damn, that Hard Rock Calling festival show looks epic and those are great video quality. Is the whole thing available in 1080p?
Set list was so/so. It was a BIT USA show. Played Jungleland and a few other good tracks, but I would feel disappointed if it were the sole concert to be released on DVD.

No that is all there is I believe.

Well that's pretty standard for a festival show, they play basically all the hits.

Filmed for MTV it looks like, you think there is a DVD possibility?

No way will he be touring the States, let alone anywhere, in Nov/Dec. They've already said Wrecking Ball is done and dusted after Rio, and there won't be a new album any time this year surely. I'd be stunned if he was here in March/April next year; starting another tour so soon after Wrecking Ball, and not starting it in the US? No way.

Wtf is an 'encore tour' anyway? Seems like a bizarre concept.

I'll be overseas all of next year anyway, so not good for me. Travel prevented me from seeing more shows this year, will be spewing if it happens again.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Rolling Stone this week labelled Bruce as the best live act in the world right now.

Justified.

Springsteen and I

Anybody else get a bit choked up? The close up shot in the Blood Brothers clip moistened my eyes somewhat and the lad at the end telling the story of when Bruce gave him the wrist strap got the tear ducts going again.

Loved it....great stories and great clips.

Decided I wanted a framed print of the Thunder Road lyrics for my desk at work. No such thing existed. So I decided to make one myself. This is what I've come up with so far. A4 size. Thinking about putting "Thunder Road" in the white gap at the top.
