Don't know if you guys have read any of the stuff about his Chile and Argentina shows but Bruce referred to those who disappeared under the miltary regimes in both countries in the 1970's and 1980's.
In Chile he started his encore with
In 1988 we played for Amnesty International in Mendoza, Argentina, but Chile was in our hearts. We met many families of desaparecidos, which had pictures of their loved ones. It was a moment that stays with me forever. A political musician, Victor Jara, remains a great inspiration. It’s a gift to be here and I take it with humbleness.”
He started his singing Manifesto in Spanish followed by We are Alive - appropriately
In Argentina he was going to do another Spanish song as part of his encore Solo le Pido a Dios. But he wasn't quiet ready so he filmed it and released it for his fans in Argentina. You can see the video and the English translation at his website at the link below. He started with We Are alive. The following is from his Notes from the Road Buenos Aires page
"
When Bruce took the stage for the first song of the encores he spoke of being here in 1988, with the Amnesty International Human Rights Now tour. He recalled those being different times with struggles for the political future and concluded with ‘we missed you, we won’t stay away so long again’ which was met with loud cheers and applause before performing We Are Alive."
