Has anyone got his book yet?

Ordered it from U.K book depository so it is on it's way. Can't wait to read it, think it will be great.

I read the Bruce biography a few years back by Peter Carlin and it was facts and all...but this i want it from his heart...I want to know his pov on all things his career.

I suspect the distance that he felt from his old man would have been very common among his generation of kids whose fathers were deeply scarred by the war.

I'm about 100 pages in. It's fantastic. It's written like he writes his lyrics. A genius.

It's easy to see how the stories in his songs relate to his life.

Yup, that's why I loved the imagery.

I smiled when I read the part early on about watching the TV til 3am at his grandma's house... took me back to Melbourne2.

Started it today, only about 20 pages in, but enjoying it so far.

Yup, that's why I loved the imagery.

I'm really enjoying it and I'm glad its not one of those "can't put it down" type of books. It's nice just to read 20-30 pages before I go to sleep....it will make the book last longer. He certainly has a different style of writing and you do feel like any paragraph could be part of a song.

I've always loved this really simple demo about life with his grandparents....although it's a little funny that
he's quite nostalgic considering he was at the ripe old age of 21 or 22 when he wrote this.

I am up to The Castilles chapter (page 68). I read it on the train too and from work. Have got some laughs while reading, other parts have been sad. It is a great read so far, thoroughly enjoying it. And I reckon I would pick it up in a few years time and read it again.

I was shocked to read he cannot read sheet music, and still can't. Struggled to understand that.

Finished it today. A truly remarkable story from a truly interesting, clever, passionate, at times lost and heartbroken, but ultimately successful man. Regardless of his music it's a fascinating read about his family and friends.

By god can the man write.

Yeah, the writing is magnificent. There are so many wonderfully worded phrases and paragraphs.

Yeah, I've drawn some connections to a few songs - My Hometown (when he talked about blacks getting shot), Factory (his dad working), The River (literally says he wrote it for his sister), and a few others I can't think of right now.

I am super eager to read the BTR/Darkness/USA/Reunion/Rising/WB/HH eras.

I have only had time to read the Tunnel of Love and his honesty on the Julie Ann bust up is refreshing and cathartic for him and us who watched the spectacle unravel in the media at the time.
