What's the timeline for Little Steven's departure back in 1984?

He appears in the 'Glory Days' video, but not any of the others where the Band is sighted as far as I can tell.

Was he at the point that he knew BUSA was a sure hit and left to do the solo?

It seems odd to have waited so long for success and then to officially leave in 1984 when the Bruce career exploded in 1985.

Anyone read any chances of a BUSA release similar to the River? I did read a couple of years ago that there is a tonne of music-video-pics etc in the treasure troves.

Well he left in 84 and came back when the band reunited, first in 95 for the Greatest Hits, then The Reunion Tour and has been around ever since.

BITUSA got its anniversary release - the live full show DVD which accompanied HH. There won't be anything else I'd say.

Stevie got married new years eve 1982. He was ready to move on with his own stuff and had grown tired of the touring life he wanted more input and he wanted to be the boss of his creative output just like Bruce wanted to control his creative output. Stevie had written a lot of songs for other artists.

Bruce had hit the big time in 1983. He's talked about staying with Bruce until they were successful and whilst the big part of his BITUSA tour hadn't started before he left the commercial success of several singles had occured.

Bruce got married well shacked up with Patti and end of 1988 early 1989 said he was sick of touring and wanted to start a family and wound up the band. Stevie beat his best mate to that point in his life by 5 years is my call on why he left in early 1984.

Yeh i know that. I am talking about his motivations in 1984. I might go dig out my 1984 Rolling Stone mag with Bruce.

Well I also read at the time of the River re release the guy who sourced the River material saying that the B USA material warranted a look. Time will tell.

Really want to see Bruce Springsteen before he stops but at $200 a ticket not sure.
Not sure if you've bought a ticket or not mate, but bloody hell, do it.

It will be the greatest musical experience of your life. I guarantee it.

Watched the last episode of Lilyhammer season 3 episode 8 tonight on SBS for the first time, just 25 months behind its showing in USA.

Love how Steve got Bruce in as his brother "the undertaker" and Tony Sirico who played fellow consigliere/captain Paulie in the Sopranos as his other brother. Oh and he got his wife in as some other relative. Loved the scene right at the end, at the bar with 5 or 6 of them in dinner suits and Steve's wife.

Also loved the name of the episode Loose Ends and the song was played during the credits. Fitted in neatly to the final shows plot and final episode (so far). Loose Ends was going to be the final song on The Ties That Bind album Bruce decided to scrap in 1979. Steve argued strongly for it to be included on The River but the Boss ignored him. It finally go onto the Tracks and Tracks 18 albums. Well Steve got it on his show.

Wish I had of known that was back on. Was a good show with some very funny moments.
Hopefully they repeat it.

Finally started the book on a long plane flight as well as watching the Born to Run making of video.

The video was exceptional...especially the breakdown of the single out take but out take....six months!
Had you not seen the making of BTR before? Exceptional documentary.

i would be disappointed if he didn't play 'born to run' and 'dancing in the dark'
Not sure if you're trolling or not lol
