I came out in the era where one the first questions you tended to get asked after you did the deed "was do you have AIDS" and Streets of Philadelphia just hit the spot perfectly, and at the time it coming from Bruce was unexpected.

Bit like when Secret Garden came out for me with Jerry McGuire.

It appeared on the back of a crazy tumultuous relationship that mutually self destructed in bitterness and acrimony.

This song became my soundtrack for a few months when the potential to love again reappeared.

And to think it came from Bruce

Have enjoyed each album however I think Streets of Philadelphia Sessions is my fave at the moment. Three listens thus far.
 
Here are my favourite tracks;

1) Sugarland. From the opening bars it grabbed me and hooked me in straight away. I love the vocal, and how calming the acoustic guitar is throughout. That second verse is so bloody sad too. Really feel for the mother in this song.

2) Don't Back Down. Man this is catchy. Has a BITUSA sound, the hook is great, and while there may not seem anything remarkable about it, less is more and its simplicity is a big plus for me.

3) High Sierra. Tremendous track. It is the best song on the entire release for me, hard to top. It's got a warm summer night feel. Haunting piano to open. The sweeping strings are wonderful and really just carry you away. They're the crown jewel of this track, and the vocal is absolutely sublime. This would have fit right in on Western Stars.

4) Goin' To California. One of the very few tracks in his entire catalogue that follows the chorus/verse format. Such a smooth and relaxing track, and the backing vocals are a lovely addition. I love how the use of trees and plants is prominent throughtout, along with natural landscapes.

5) Cuidad Juarez. Some pretty dark themes in this one. It's very strong lyrically, and the crooning vocal is wonderful. The trumpet is beautiful.

One Beautiful Morning, Blind Spot, Waiting on the End of the World, Idiots Delight, Rain in the River … are five of my faves off the top of my head.

All 83 songs are on Bruce's Youtube channel - all videos recorded on Vevo platform.

Today as I type the first 20 lines x 4 videos = 80 of the songs.

The 21st line Adelita ( is that his mum's full first name) and Sunday Love as well as the 17 minute video introducing Tracks II which has already been posted a couple of time in here.

The 23rd line of 4 videos currently has Repo Man on the LHS of the 4 videos
 
Latest update on Bruce Oz tour. No real change. Not re visiting any discussions till after holiday.

What I can say is dates that were pencilled in for early next year, currently are now pencilled in for late next year.

Could that change. Absolutely.

It’s not really mate. They will get to Australia. Kevin Buell said Bruce , the crew and band are all expecting Oz to happen. That’s over here in Europe he stated that. It’s just a matter of when.

Bruce has said several times he will get to Oz in the next year.

It’s just timing and making it work.

But our info always comes from the dudes that make the shows happen.

I know from previous yours there’s a hell of a lot of back and forth that happens on dates.

I’m still not ruling out early next year just yet.

Bruce Inc have been known to chop & change.

Positive thing is all initial discussions were initiated by Bruce camp.

Si they are keen to come.

It’s just when.

If I was a betting man regardless of when the tour is going to be, I’d try to lock in any sort of tour announcement around the release of the film Oct 23rd.
 
Well nothing on that damn Aust Tour I see. Ed Sheahan and AC/DC were the two that eventuated for early next year. So that’s summer 2025 out.

Do we really expect them to get back together to come back down here in late 2026 and into 2027 after such a lengthy couple of stints on the road? Happy to be proven wrong but I’m thinking that the only chance I will see him again is to venture overseas.

Anyway, on a more positive note, here is Peter Ames book just released on the making of B2Run. His biography was exceptional and this appears to be the same

Frontier are trying to tie him down for late next year. As previously stated dates presented to Bruce Inc , for February they weren’t happy with. Gut feel for me is the length of tour and where it goes most likely the sticking point. I expect things to ramp us as we get closer to movie release.
