Got some seats at Rod Laver show sitting at the back of the stage............as its in the round i should still get a decent view shouldn't i?

You'll see plenty. I'd much rather be behind the stage than in the C-Reserve right at the back of the arena.

From the videos I've seen (although Cruyff is more versed in this than me), Bruce certainly doesn't ignore the punters sitting behind the stage.

Im new on the 'BRUUUUUUUUCE' bandwagon. Just discoverd his version of Because the night. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

So, who's going to what shows and where will you be? I've lost track of it all.

Me...

Brisbane #1: GA Front
Hanging Rock #1: GA Front

Would love to have gone to more, but was doin pretty well to convince the missus once wasn't enough.

On a side note - Have just started a Bruce marathon. Will listen to every album from start to finish, beginning with Greetings...maybe I've missed some gold.

Now there's an idea. Good old iTunes already has it in order for me, and to throw in Live 75-85 on vinyl in between BITUSA and Tunnel of Love. :thumbsu:

I went all out, will even need to alter both my departing and returning flight for a trip I'm taking in March. Totally worth it.

Brisbane #1: B Reserve seating, lower circle, half-way back
--- 12 days in NZ ---
Rod Laver # 3: GA Front
Hanging Rock # 1: GA Front
Hanging Rock # 2: A Reserve seating, dead centre

Going to be quite the few weeks.

Ticket sales update

Brisbane 1 - sold out
Brisbane 2 - sold out
Sydney 1 - nosebleeds behind the stage available
Sydney 2 - first section behind the stage available
Melbourne 1 - sold out
Melbourne 2 - nosebleeds behind the stage available
Melbourne 3 - side seats available
Hanging Rock 1 - sold out
Hanging Rock 2 - Section B seats available, back lawn available

Gudinski will be stoked. I certainly didn't think this many tickets would be sold after two days. It's a testament to Springsteen's ever-growing reputation.

I think when you look at people of my generation ( people who grew up on Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and anybody else who was HUGE!!!! in the early to mid 80's) Bruce is the only one who didnt go 'Strange' or die!
Pop, Rap, Hip Hop, Disco may all go up and down in popularity over the yrs but basic meat & potato rock n roll never ever goes out of style. Thus Mr Springsteen never goes too stale.
Long Live Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce

Yep, that would have been something else. Coming all this way to play small 2000-seat theatres, good effort. Although with the intelligence of your average Australian, every silly was probably yelling over the top of an acoustic show
Haha who knows.

jpkennedy Where are you? I may have others interested in the ticket, if you don't want it let me know asap.

Just out doin some Xmas shopping and picked this up from big w...

Back of the stage aren't great but, the atmosphere will add to it, you will get a great view of Max absolutely dominating his kit.

Ripper, brilliant.

Have you read my countdown?

Not yet. I still haven't finished Bruce Springsteen: The Promise of Rock n Roll.

Bruce is meant to be brilliant though.

Bono mentions this sort of thing at the start of his speech inducting Bruce to the rock n' Roll Hall of fame in 1999

Well, the decision's been made.

I'm not coming over for his shows.

Which sucks. Oh well, it's not like this disappointment is unique. Have felt it before.

Geez I feel for you mate. I loved your Tears drops on city thread in the other music forum. It just isn't right that someone who knows his stuff as well as what you do should miss out.

What is the biggest issue, $$$, getting time off work, or being away from your young family??

The excuse of "hey honey, I'm just going to take off for a few days and go see Springsteen in Melbourne" just won't fly, even though the missus knows how much not being able to go is killing me.

Time off work isn't an issue. My company has Melbourne offices that I'd be able to work in while I'm over.

$$$ is the biggest issue though. It's not that I absolutely can't afford it... it's just that $200+ for tickets, Accommodation, $$$$$$ for airfares (because the promoter was kind enough to book the shows at Easter time when airfares will skyrocket) isn't justifiable.

At the moment we're living off my income, which hurts because my wife earned way more than I do at the moment, and we're in the early stages of building a house and we've had to borrow heavily to do so, all the while juggling our existing mortgage.

So yeah, basically a shitstorm of bad timing. Easier to make a clean break now and resign myself to the fact that it just ain't gonna happen and focus on the things that I will be able to do.

Bummer UFG.

So we need Cruyff14 to put you up for a few nights, Gudinski to hand out a few freebies and Alan Joyce to decide he wants to hurt Qantas' bottom line again and let people in Perth fly to Melbourne for about $100 one way over Easter. Lets see if we can work the bigfooty network. ;)

Or convince the powers that be to come and play in Perth...

Unless all those mining billionaires love Bruce like Wayne Swan does, and they do a deal with Gudinski I can't see it happening. The sticking point is probably bloody John Landau. He is a bit of a control freak and is Bruce's money man.

I reckon if we offer Gudinski a few lines of genuine 100% Colombia coke we can get you a few tickets to a few different shows in the Pit.

A bit harder to work on that pesky Alan Joyce.

Where the hell are my tickets?

Just on Tumbling Dice with The Stones, I'll be honest, Bruce added nothing and could have been much better utilised on a song like Dead Flowers or Stop Breaking Down. NFI why he bothered to bring a guitar out. Should have brought Patti with him and done One Hit (to the Body); Patti did backing vox on the studio version.

My LastFM profile is a never-ending battle between Bruce and The Stones for outright superiority.
