This x1000.

Those opening chords, man, would blow the roof off. This thinking that exact thing last night, what a song to kick off a gig and get the crowd right into it.
I reckon BIT USA will open at least one show here.

Certainly went down well as an opener in 1985 but it was the BIT USA tour. I'd be okay with it.

I bet.

He's done it a few times overseas too I think in the last few years. I think it will definitely get a run here, even if it doesn't open. Seems to play it much more when not in the States.

The other consideration for touring artists is how songs have charted. BIT USA was his highest charting song in Australia at #2. Surprised at that myself because I had some recollection about DITD hitting #1 but apparently it only hit #5.

Anyway, the charts are the reason why someone like Rick Springfield plays 'Speak to the Sky' in Australia and expresses surpris when introducing it that Australia is the only place it was a hit. You play to the locals so we will see chart toppers as well as epics and labours of love.

Unfortunately, artists also like to play 1, 2, even 3 covers to give the audience something they know. As diehards we would probably prefer they gave us more of their originals instead. I mean I saw Blondie last year and Debbie sang 'Relax' by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Novel, but there was so much she didn't sing of her own stuff, I couldn't help but ponder what might have been.

Having said that, Bruce did Rockin' All Over the World back in '85 and it was bitchin'!

I'm looking forward to the covers, I have loved pretty much every cover he has done trhough the last few tours. When I Leave Berlin and Higher and Higher are amazing. What he will play though is anybody's guess. We could get Waltzing Mathilda, A Home Amongst The Gumtrees, Friday on My Mind, Most People I know. Who has any bloody idea when it comes to Bruce? The man is too hard to read! Whatever we get though, it's going to be fvcking epic!

I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, radio will certainly dictate what gets played to an extent. We'll get BITUSA, I'm on Fire, and Glory Days at most gigs I'd think. I hope it's not at the expense of Wrecking Ball songs; I'm another that could definitely do without the covers.

After Brisbane #1 I'm heading straight to the airport for a morning flight, so no doubt I'll be buzzing and no sleep shall be had. Soooooooo keen for this, the next six days are going to be agony waiting for it to roll around.

Would be awesome if he covered 'Down Under' with that massive horn section, however.

BIT USA is great, it is such an anthemic song perfect for a big crowd. It will be nuts.

Down Under would be sick.

**** I AM SO EXCITED. YOU HAVE TO GIVE US A FULL RUNDOWN OF THE GIG!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to hear this too

So did we come to the conclusion that 7pm on the ticket effectively means a 8pmish start?
Yeah usually comes out at 8 overseas.

We looking at a 11pm finish?

Hanging Rock curfew is officially 11.45. I'd say he'd be on at 8.30.

Generally, arena curfews are 11.30 so I think a ticket start of 7.00 points to an 8.00 stage time.

That's purely a prediction.

Curfews! Ha! Bruce doesn't do curfews pj ;)

Found these...Hmm. The Brisbane public transport website (Translink) says a 7pm start and 11pm finish. I doubt we'll get 4 hour shows here (3-3.5 I think) but the all these say 7:30pm on the ticket, so could be a similar arrangement to US/Europe.

The BEC's curfew is 11pm I think, which is bullshit because there wouldn't be a residence within at least a 1km radius of the place. It's in the middle of a wetlands.

100th show. Awesome. I opted for seats at HR2 for a change up from the pit. He better not make me regret it.

HR1 is the only show I have seats for lol

What time do u guys think u need to realistically get there to get a good GA spot? I won't be too bothered if I'm a few rows back, but do you reckon you need to be there early arvo to have a shot at a good spot or morning even? I just need to figure out what to do with work.

No doubt come about 4 or 5 the queues will increase dramatically.

I plan on getting there at midday, rain, hail or shine. My iPod will keep me company.

This is one of the things I hate about GA. I said I'd never do it again after last time - pearl jam at etihad. Got there at about 3 and we were on our feet for a good 8 hours. Wanted to enjoy the warm up acts but my feet were so damn sore from standing, that I ended up taking stints sitting on the floor, surrounded by a mass of bodies. Not to mention its a nightmare if u need a piss or want a drink.

This. Reckon the queuing area outside the gates is undercover? They are at the BEC but could easily be different at Rod Laver. I reckon midday will easily get you right up against the stage.

I'm more worried about getting a decent pit spot at Hanging Rock. That's going to be a long ******* wait in the sun, through two shitty warm up acts. Could set a record for the amount of urine dispensed at a rock show.

I don't think it is, I can't remember. There is a small area, maybe 5-10m and the rest is open. Bring a poncho ;)

The way our weather is going at the moment you'll need sunscreen and a hat.
