Geez and then there is No Surrender with that "new" tinnier intro compared to the album I want to hear and sing along to,

We busted out of class had to get away from those fools
We learned more from a three-minute record than we ever learned in school

RussellEbertHandball, really, you wouldn't care if you didn't hear Badlands?

I've been sitting here thinking about tonight's set. It has blown my mind. I know, going to five shows, I am going to hear some epics. I hope hear Jungleland and Backstreets. Life would be complete.

Nobody understands what Bruce is to me and nobody is ever going to understand how I will feel after seeing him walk on to that stage for the first time. I can't do it justice in words. There aren't enough superlatives.

This week is going to be both exciting and painful. In one weeks time, it will be the day of the concert.

Sorry for blabbing on, but after this, I can die a happy man knowing I have seen what I have waited a decade for. This is all that matters to me.

Love your passion. Reading these set lists is like sublime torture. Hanging out for Sunday!

Hate spoilers so I'm cocooning myself a bit in preparation for Sunday's show, but I did have to find a version of Tom Morello joining The Boss on Ghost of Tom Joad after reading comments here. Just awesome, Morello's voice is perfect for the song, with a smoky bourbon bar Tom Waits feel.

Edited the bold bit. Picked it up straight away and was a little shocked, but great version. Around 1:40 when the guitars have a "gear change' and the horn section kicks in it really rocked.

Brisbane boy Chris Bailey - would of been proud that the Boss picked his song in his home town. Maybe I'm Stranded gets a go on Saturday night.

I'm tipping at least 1 Vanda and Young song in Sydney - maybe Friday on my Mind.

He could run Out in the Street into Friday on my Mind. :thumbsu:

Saw Gunners last night. Best gig I've ever been to. Ever.

Your move Springsteen.
Correction you saw an arrogant twat and a bunch of hired guns masquerading as GnR - GnR died years ago.

I'm sure it was a decent show but Springsteen will blow Axl and co away every day of the week.

The lead guitarist climbed up into the balcony just so he could talk to, hug and play his guitar for a kid in a wheelchair. Arrogant twats? I think not.

I was in the "This isn't Gunners, it's Axl and some guys" camp but after last night? They're Guns n' Roses, still my 3rd favourite band of all time.

Thanks

It's a shame we aren't going to a show together, would have been great. Hope you're not too scarce and will still visit the thread! :)

Also, MWNN is entitled to his opinion. He loves GnR, and that's okay.

As I posted, I will look out for your Jungleland sign! :D

I won't be able to help myself, will be checking out set lists and how the shows leading up to Melbourne are going (will crack and watch the posted phone footage).

Have to keep up to date with RussellEbertHandball check ins! :thumbsu:

Did you see the clip I posted above?

Was epic.

His performance was brilliant - sounds fantastic live, and his personality was great; everything I thought he'd be.

Massive disappointment at the lack of Thunder Road though :( Also wanted Better Days, I'm on Fire and Glory Days.

Overall, very happy though.

Now, having said that, that venue is absolute crap - the security and bar staff were like the ****ing Gestapo; I saw middle aged couples being escorted out by police for being intoxicated (they weren't); people being to sit down and stop dancing. All bars but one shut about an hour in, and they changed it from a four drink to a two drink minimum (****ing fantastic when you're trying to buy a round for a group); and they have people in the bar scouting the lines for people to sic security onto.

I didn't have any dramas perfectly, but I was filthy about it - I saw a women in her forties in tears because they'd kicked her and her husband out (and they weren't even pissed) who had travelled from interstate for it.

Just absolute bullshit; it was pathetic.

That sucks, how could they do that? Hope it's not like that in Melbourne for the one show I seated.

What were the highlights for you?

I couldn't believe it.

Highlights were Badlands, Dancing in the Dark and Born to Run. Blinded by the Light was cool - but Manfred Mann have got him covered ;)

His interaction with the crowd was excellent - loved it when he got a couple of ladies up on stage and danced with them.

Yeah sure, if you prefer 'wrapped up like a douche' to 'cut loose like a deuce'.

Springsteen did concede saying the song was never popular until Manfred Mann sang about a feminine hygiene product. ;)

Anyone know how I can easily off load 1 ticket?? I have a spare seat in the rear area.
