****en Sydney traffic and Bruce starting early meant I missed American Land and Prove it All Night. Pissed off but can't do much about it despite leaving my mates place at Northbridge at 6pm. It was a 8pm start for Brisbane 1st, 7.46pm Brisbane 2nd, now 7.30 for Sydney 1st. Better get there before 7pm for the next two shows.

I asked about 10 people, during and after the show including 2 woman with green wrist bands, what the first song was, was it We take care of Our own? and I got an I don't know or can't remember from all of them.

Would have liked to seen American Land, but pissed off I missed Prove It All Night.

Some really nice additions to the previous nights and especially the first Brisbane show which I went to.

Adam Raised a Cain was great to hear.

Hungry Heart, My City in Ruins and Spirit in the Night were almost identical to Brisbane first show ie same number songs in the set list and similar words spoken in intro during the song etc, - crowd surfing was during Hungry Heart.

High Hopes was very energetic and high tempo compared to the Blood Brothers version.

Youngstown and Candy's Room rocked. I wasn't that much of Youngstown when it was released in 1997. That changed on the Live in NY City version. I have the last couple of minutes Candy's Room and all of She's the One on film. But from 50 m from the stage the vision isn't great. Just gotta to get to some computer that has a fast upload to You Tube compared to useless wireless broadband connection. Like the Brisbane show I could feel Max's base drum on She's the One pulse against my body, but this time I was 50m further away from where I was in Brisbane.

I put my camera down after She's the One but forgot to turn it off, so I have the intro chat by Bruce to Pay Me My Money Down recorded.

"At some point when this song gets going your gonna feel signals coming from your a.ss. Going to your brain. It will be saying Rise, Rise. That's right. When you go home and people ask you what happened at the Bruce Springsteen concert, you say my a.ss talked to me, and a talking a.ss, it was a miracle, I'm telling you it always is, that a.ss is going to tell you to get up out of your seat. I'm not gonna to tell you, I'm not telling you, your own a.ss is going to tell you." [why is this auto correcting a.ss to arse???]

And when my ass told me to get up I didn't care if I blocked the view of the people behind me. I went and stood in the doorway entrance for Spirit, High Hopes and Youngstown before the dopey security guy told me to sit down. I had the Aisle seat so got up for The Ghost of Tom Joad and stood in the aisle for the rest of the show. At one point another dopey security guy asked me take two steps in towards my seat and not block anyone. I was in row b for christ's sakes so I wasn't going to stop anyone.

The Ghost of Tom Joad is becoming the highlight of the show. I have about 90% of that on film.

Like Brisbane it took the turning on of the house lights and the encore set to get 95% of people up out of their seats. Seven Nights to Rock was a great choice to fire people up. It's a really high energy full band song. I've only seen/heard it once on video, I think from a Sweden concert a few years ago. Dancing in the Dark was pretty standard -got an early 20's up this time. And the Clarence and Danny 2 minute tribute in Tenth Avenue Freeze out was well received like in Brisbane.

Why did the show go for less than 3 hours?? I don't know if Bruce was unwell but unlike the 1st Brisbane show he only went into the crowd 2 or 3 times, Hungry Heart, Tenth Avenue and I think for Waiting on a Sunny Day - not sure but he picked the 10 year old girl to sing the chorus. I reckon in Brisbane he did minimum of 6 laps but I reckon it was 10.

I WANT TO GET BACK IN THE PIT. Wednesday night is half way to the stage but the top deck. Tonight I was at the end opposite the stage but middle tier. The show was bloody enjoyable but not as magical as Thursday night for me. I'm going to see if i can sneak into a better spot!

They say once you go black you never go back. But for me, anything other than the Pit is shit.

I have 3 minutes of Wrecking Ball, 2 minutes of Candy's Room, all of She's the One, 5 minutes of Pay Me My Money Down, a bit of Waitin' on a Sunny day and crowd surfing of Hungry Heart and 90% of The Ghost of Tom Joad on video. Anyone got any suggestion how or where I can go to upload tha footage quickly to You Tube? Got similar amount of footage from Thursday's Brisbane show but only got 2 minutes of the E Street Shuffle to You Tube because it took 11 hours to upload the 500MB.

Mentioned "The Great Power failure of 2003. It took 9 years for my penis to grow back." The Power cut out 4 times at the SCG due to promoter Jacobsen being a tight arse with the generators. He gave us Rosalita that night as a compensation for stuffing us around. Can't remember which song it was - I think he was sitting at the piano, so it would have been My City of Ruins, he said - and when I say I wont forget this night, I really mean it this time.

From a Greasy Lake poster

he penis reference from tonight's show. In pre Brisbane interviews he was asked about the Sydney 2003 show & the power outages & said it was a real weenie shrinker. Hence the comment tonight about it taking 9 years for his penis to grow back.

Hey all
New poster here. Saw Bruce both shows in Briz. Both great in their own way
Hungry Heart on Thurs vs Out in the Street Sat for crowd surfing preferred Hungry Heart
No thunder rd Sat but Promised Land more than made up for that
Crowd was better Saturday but that could have been where I was (much closer) and the people around.
Made a difference in that I could see band faces Saturday and they do a great job of interacting with
the people at back and sides.
No sigh requests Thurs but I only saw a few
Three sign requests Saturday
Was there any last night?

He seems to go for signs that have more than just the song name. The signs he chose
Meet me tonight in Atlantic city, Blinded by the E street light, and Open all night from Maine USA

Adam raised a Cain was a sign request. He took another sign but didn't play it

Absolutely shit hot

This is fun too

Was so disappointe he didn't sing that :(

I think the Thursday show got the strongest set list so far.
No way, Saturday night was way better.

Darlington County, Incident, The River, Atlantic City, Racing, LOHAD.

RussellEbertHandball, a shame you missed it Prove It, don't worry though, you're going to other shows so it's not so bad, I am jumping out of my skin with excitement. You're going to both other Sydney shows, right?

Ok so the first girl in this video who gets up on stage with bruce is one of my best friends and is the biggest Bruce springstein fan i know.

You don't know me, that's why ;)

Sort of thrilled I got the longest, probably most energetic, interactive night on Thursday, but disappointed for others that I wanted to share the experience. It really felt he got carried away with excitement on opening night. Probably expected that he would tire easier doing shows every couple of nights thereafter. Still 150 mins is more than most artists will give you and we are always going to miss out on songs we like with such a huge list to choose from.

I think the final HR show is going to blow any previous show here out of the water. Just a feeling.

I agree with that, although with opening acts he has a reason to not go 3 hours. I think he will leave it all out there for that last show though. Promises to be epic.

Think it will be similar to Hyde Park DVD tbh in terms of epicness. I mean they got, Racing, Rosie & Jungleland. I think it will be something similar.

Nooooo, don't say that! But, you're probably right. Wish they'd just left HR as one show.

And these discussions about show x was better than show y are pointless really. Everyone has different favorites and set lists that will appeal more than others

Well, I told you your family will still be here after Easter and Bruce won't :P

That's true, but this is a discussion board. Comes down to personal taste, but for me, Brisbane Night two has been the best in Australia for me at this point of the three shows played.

Also, I was listening to Triple M this morning and they were giving away VIP tix to HR show. Anyway, you had to call up and explain why someone you know should deserve a ticket. So this lady rang up about her husband, who, was meant to be going with his brother to the concert, organised to get the tickets, got them online, and the brother ended up taking his wife (so the husband's sister in law). Absolute dog of an act, what a campaigner. I wouldn't talk to him, I couldn't believe it.

Yep going to both and at this stage last night at HR. In the Promise doco he talked about the Easybeats' Friday on My Mind inspiring Out In the Street. Thinking of taking a sign on Friday with Friday on My Mind + Out In The Street - just its probably to long.

Geez I hope we haven't spoiled it for you and build up your expectations to much Cruyffy.

My advise is go see Stephen Dank and get him to give you some of Essendon's vitamin shots, some peptides and hormones and maybe a good cycling doctor so he can give you a shot of EPO so you can survive lining up early for all the shows and then 4 nights ( or is it all 5) in the Pit.

You don't know me, that's why ;)

:D :D

And yeah, you're right TODN, there are always going to be songs we can't hear due to such a massive catalog.

That's why I got a ticket for that show. Realistically it should be telivised live around Oz and the world. I would have thought Gudinski would have moved heaven and earth to do what Elton John did from the Sydney Opera houe in the 1990's.

I can see a 4 and 1/2 hour show if the stars align with weather and health etc. Bruce is such a great artist who else as about 350 songs of his own + covers to pull out of his back pocket.

:D :D
Do you need a way of getting to HR?

You should do it, worst case is he doesn't play it and you still ****ing enjoy the show, do it. I'm making my signs tonight and tomorrow I think, will share them on here when I am done.

Not a chance, love reading the stories and what you guys are saying, builds it up even more for me. Can't wait!

Haha, heck that! :D

Yeah but Elton is much bigger than Bruce in all seriousness. I do agree though, but yeah, Elton has much more appeal to the masses.

4 and a1/2? :D Longest show ever that would mean, I doubt it, but I think it will be epic.

Welcome aboard - I know you ain't here for business, you're only here for fun, seeing that was your first post on big footy.

Yeah, Thursday night for me was better than last night, but like you that was because I was 5m not 50m away from Bruce. Same as 2003 - The SCG had a better set list, but I was 100m from the stage, but it Brisbane I was 10m.

Maybe I have do my sign that goes something like FOMM to go OINT.

Yeah but I haven't organised anything for HR2 yet as I thought I might have had to cancel to go overseas with this project I have been working on, but looks like its been delayed until late April. I will PM you in a couple of days once sort out when I get to Melbourne for a hand with getting to HR.

The other reason HR2 should be televised around Oz is for all those guys in WA, SA, TAS and NT who have no show in their states and no chance of getting to a show in other states, so that super fans like UpForGrabs get the next best alternative.
