What is the error?

The day I made the list, would be how I was feeling that day. A lot has changed in a year though and Spirit would probably be higher now, as would Atlantic City. Maybe a few others as well.

Ties That Bind is a fantastic song, I absolutely love it.

Not a fan of Kitty at all. It's never grabbed me in anyway to make me want more, or any of it for that matter.

57 channels. eh.

I don't know Soul Driver. I like Let's Be Friends. It makes me happy, but it's crap for Bruce's standards, still a good song though. Worlds Apart for me is a bit errr, not big on it. Magic is not the best song on Magic contrary to popular belief. I don't know One Step Up.

The recording of Wrecking Ball is great. I am a big fan of it. It is uplifting, it brings a smile to my face, and sometimes tears to my eyes. Bruce's imagery is a very powerful tool in my mind. I imagine hearing this song over a montage at the end of a movie with a sports team winning a major trophy. Big, big fan. It's a great song. What I love about the live version though, is the line where he says "Let me hear your voices call", he lets out a "C'mon!" and you hear the crowd roar. That moves me. The whole song I have images of just a slow motion clip of a sports team celebrating throughout my mind. I get a sense of triumph of listening to it. A sense of achievement, a sense of victory. The trumpet adds a completely different element and I love that the horns are so prominent throughout the album. Listening to it again, it's a very well written song. This song makes me really happy.

As for LOHAD, they're different. I remember reading that when Bruce first heard the recording of this and it got to Clarence's solo, he bawled his eyes out. I don't blame him really. The studio version has a more gospel feel to it, a more anthemic sound. The drums sound different too, probably because of the use of a drum machine. I prefer live Bruce over studio Bruce, but this studio version still gets a bit of a run. The live version is also a little slower (well the Reunion version), and I feel Bruce gives a bit more in the vocal, but that's just me.

I've just bought a whole heap of stuff on iTunes, so I'm still working through most of it, but so far, I love Leah, Jungleland, Blinded by the Light, Lost in the Flood, and Incident on 57th Street. Have also had a quick listen to the Wrecking Ball album (already knew We Take Care Of Our Own) and I really like Death to My Hometown and This Depression.

Prior to the last few hours , I'd say my favourite song was Tougher Than the Rest, followed by Glory Days and Dancing in the Dark, and Rosalita, of course. And Girls In Their Summer Clothes!

Some random thoughts:
The first half of Tunnel of Love is horrific. The second half is wonderful.
I noticed that the title track from WOAD was the only one from that album. I don't rate the album at all, but Outlaw Pete and What Love Can Do get regular play from me.
City of Night is a nice, unknown song.
Gloria's Eyes is a great track from Human Touch.
I looooove The Fever from Tracks.

Death To My Hometown is my favourite from WTCOOO, but This Depression is the best on album for me.

I haven't really listened to Tunnel of Love in its entirety. The songs I do like though are the title track, When You're Alone, Valentines Day and Brilliant Disguise (and yes I just saw they're all of the second half )

My favourite song off The Promise is The Brokenhearted.

Real World is a great song from Human Touch.

Fever doesn't really grab me.

I am a Tom Waits fan. I am a Bruce Springsteen fan and Neil Young is my favourite artist of all time. I don't think they are mutually exclusive. Given that Neil just handed Tom Waits his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award and Neil has played live with Bruce Springsteen, I don't think he does either.

Look at Bruce in the lead up to Jake's solo. The swirling of the arms, the movement of his arm in time with the clashing of the drums. This is a man who lives and breathes music. A man, who, has played this song 557 times, and he still feels the emotion. I will forever be in awe.

@Cruyffy14 I know you are a little obsessed by Jungleland and I usually play it when you link the different videos but because I am reading another thread or doing something else I can lose track of the songs power. That's why I like listening to the Live in NY CD (and others) when I go for a run because I concentrate of the words and music of Jungleland (and other songs) and try and get my breathing pattern in line with the songs.

But I always listen intensely to the opening piano hook when you put these video links in. There is something really special about that first 90 -120 seconds until the down in Jungleland line and the sax kicks in.

Its a pity this song was too long to ever become a radio song because all those shows like Rockwiz and trivia nights when they have the music segment will never play the intro for the crowd to guess. If they did, I could see a lot of people who watch those shows or go to the trivia nights, wanting to find out more about the song.

RussellEbertHandball, haha, obsessed, I have never thought about it that way. It's the greatest song I have ever heard and I don't think I will ever get sick of it. In regards to the piano hook, that is marvelous too, it sounds delicate, that's what I love about it.

What is underrated is the bass during the sax solo, oh boy.

I missed that version of Racing you posted on Sunday until now, that's a ripper. It never seems to get played the same way twice. Am I crazy or is Bruce getting a bit croaky towards the back end of this tour?

Anyway, I had a spare hour at uni today and on a whim decided to put together my own top 61. It's an absolute mess, total disaster, riddled with inconsistencies and there's bearly anything from the 70s outside the top 20 haha. Only happy with the top 10 haha. One of the reasons why it was a disaster. I consider it very closely related to Streets of Fire if that helps haha, they are one in the same for me. Which ones don't you know?

Downbound Train is pure bliss. So depressing on such an upbeat album. Wish it was longer.

Where would Backstreets have been? Streets of Fire is so ****ing underrated.

I love the opening riff of Downbound Train. The heartbreak and imagery throughout the song is very powerful
