Went and did my reconnaissance run at Bondall this afternoon. Checked out the set up with the train - the gates will open at 5pm and then they will have us in the holding area ie kill some time by buying beers and merchandise. About 5-30 they will open the doors to the foyer area up the stairs and then at around 6-30 they open the doors to the venue. Bruce is expected on stage at 7-30 but the ticket says 7-00 so people get there early and fill it up. Got this info from the girl in the admin desk. Asked if I could see the stage set up, but she said no. Played the line I'd never been there, came all the way from Adelaide, but it didn't work.

As I was leaving I saw an open door, so I went in and ended up at the opposite end of the stage. at the level up from ground level. It's a great view. Took a photo. Decided to go around the bowels of the BEC and see if I could get close to the pit area. Got there and was there for a few minutes and took a couple of shots. A security bloke then came and asked me how I got in. Told him I just walk in the open door and I wanted to have a look at how big the pit area is and told him my story about coming in from SA. He was cool about it and we had a bit of a chat and walked me out then explained how it all works and he confirmed the times the girl at the admin area told me.


Unfortunately I dropped my phone in Brizvegas and cracked the screen so I am having problems down loading my photos. If i can get them on my hard drive, I will put them on photobucket and load them up.

My guess is there are about 200 people in each pit area - they aren't huge but **** you will be close to the stage. I can't bloody wait.

I won't bother taking any photos tomorrow night, not close enough to worry about it. Come Melbourne and Hanging Rock, I won't be able to resist grabbing a few quick ones. If 'We Are Alive' gets played I might even take that time to learn how to adjust the settings.

Not allowing cameras is ridiculous. I can understand if it's to prevent people in the pit having their views blocked by people with cameras upheld the whole time, but for people in the seats surely there is no harm. It's not as if anyone's intellectual property right are being infringed. :rolleyes:

If I hadn't had this ******* holiday booked, I'd gladly be partaking in Brisbane 2 and maybe even Sydney. At least I can run amok in Melbourne for a week when I get back. So pumped, expect my update/review sometime around 2am Friday morning, providing I figure out how to connect to the wi-fi at the airport.

I agree it is pretty poor and it would be pretty interesting to spend the night with fellow Springsteen fans for the night before his show.

Here are a couple of shots I took of the BEC being set up.

The back door was open and sun coming thru so that's the bright whte light.

Notice that some seats are covered up in black behind the stage. The ones at ground level weren't sold but up in the stands were but the security guy told me that they will be covered up. in the second shot you will see one bay in the stand area covered up. Not sure were they are moving those people.

The orange forklift truck is where the pit area starts and the speakers will be the approx edge of the main stage. top left hand side you see some seats are covered with a black sheet. supposedly that is going all the way round to equivalent bay on the other side.
