Is that a beanie with 'Bruce/Estreet' between the T-shirts????

I wanted a cap last year.

Are there any caps this year?

Story on Bruce on 7.30 report tonight.

I sat next to the old girl from WA at Rod Laver 1 last year. She was fantastic! Wore that sequinned waistcoat too.

Not a chance of a pre show now.

You are going to have add each of your numbers to your signature i reckon.

Strange I home watching Lillyhammer's return on SBS and thinking about you about to fire up for the Boss in the next hour.

GRAHAM ATKINSON, QUEENSLAND FAN: You get Bruce or you don't get Bruce and Bruce is different because he is the glue that binds the fans.

CLAIRE MOODIE: Graham Atkinson has been camping out since the weekend, holding a place in the queue for hardcore fans who are hoping for a spot at the front of the moshpit.
GRAHAM ATKINSON: On a first come, first serve basis we take names, we give out a number and then we have organised roll calls and people come - as long as they come back on roll calls, they get their name marked off, they keep their position in the list.

CLAIRE MOODIE: It's an unofficial system run by Springsteen fans around the world. Ted Brych should know. He's seen Bruce play 379 times.

TED BRYCH, NEW JERSEY FAN: I've seen him in over 150 cities worldwide. And, you know, some people, they are addicted to cocaine or heroin; I'm addicted to Bruce Springsteen.
CLAIRE MOODIE: He's not alone; it's a worldwide condition. Tonight, WA fans are being rewarded with the first-ever concert in Perth by Springsteen and the E Street Band, who've just flown in from a sellout tour of South Africa.

I reckon I met Ted in Sydney 3rd show and he had racked up 346 shows by then. he looks very familiar to one of the two guys I met and his hat is the same.

The 7.30 story was very good. It showed the passion of the fans, the good nature in the pit roll call system and showed him performing in South Africa not some clips from the 70's and his Born in the Usa days. The intergenerational nature of his fans, the music critic who understands him and that desire to get close and spend a moment with him. I like what Graham said "You get Bruce or you don't get Bruce and Bruce is different because he is the glue that binds the fans."
