Nah mate - gave up in the end. Not enough time to do anything much these days :(
Off topic but do you have time to help me find some Stephen Michael videos on You Tube?

Oh man, I love this guy. His album Born in the USA is so great. I can listen it on repeat again and again...
And that's about his 6th or 7th best album. ;)

Jungleland - it's the song that has it all. It's grandiose, breathtaking, magical and a whole heap of other superlatives rolled into one that combine for an eleven minute, cinematic spectacular.

From the Barefoot Girl, to the Maximum Lawman, and the Magic Rat, the characters in Jungleland intertwine magically to create a story that leaves you breathless come the end. The delicate piano to draw you in at the beginning is at the forefront of your mind as you wind your way through the first two verses. Accompanied by soothing violin, and uplifting organ work, the band come eventually crashing in and set the scene for what is to come.

Crashing drums, powerhouse vocals, thunderous piano playing, are now the pivot of the song. Everything is revolving around those things and they leave no prisoners. Everything is in full swing and things have really kicked off. The imagery is stark powerful and allows you to capture what is really happening.

Of course, the sax steals the show, but it does so without taking anything else away from the song. It's the songs climax in a way, it breaks up the first, rockier half, with the sombre end that is to follow.

Those closing verses are some powerful song writing to say the very least. The whails to close the song out are full of angst, sorrow & sufffering, and it's definitely not hard to hear the pain being exerted.

I find it hard to put into words how good Jungleland actually is and it's hard to articulate what the song means to me, and how I feel about it. But it's incredibly special from start to end. I can't tire of it, and the images it leaves in my mind are incredibly powerful and the musical composition often brings tears to my eyes with its exceptional beauty. It's outrageous that he was only in his mid 20s when all of this was put together. I find that hard to comprehend, that a man so young could pen, well, a masterpiece.

I know for as long as I live, I won't hear anything better.

It's a bootleg/unofficial. Cost $53 but it's worth every cent. There is a guy that makes/burns/sends them out etc. You pay via paypal, delivery takes two weeks.
Is he Oz based? If not where?

I spoke to the camera woman at the Adelaide shows. She always works the Stevie/Roy side of the stage. She told me she has been doing this for 14 years. Asked her what happened to all the video tapes of all the concerts and she said as far as she knows they go into storage. I wonder if anyone has ever raided that stash of videos.
