Rock legend Bruce Springsteen has described Donald Trump as a “moron” and “tragic” in an election campaign he has chosen largely to stay out of, until now.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, the singer said: “The republic is under siege by a moron, basically. Without overstating it, it’s a tragedy for our democracy.”

Springsteen also accused Trump of offering “simple answers to very complex problems”.

“The ideas he’s moving to the mainstream are all very dangerous ideas – white nationalism and the alt-right movement.”
Bruce, Bruce, Bruce!

Considering not doing Sydney at all now. I know I am going to regret it deeply, but it's just so costly. Already decided I am definitely not doing Sydney 2 (if/when announced) - saves me at least $600 - probably closer to $700 after food.

And Sydney 1 - can probably save about $500-$600. I want to go so badly. But being an adult can be so damn inconvenient. Just shelled out $800 on a suit for a work event, two year anniversary in November (girlfriend wants to go away), and we've got a mortgage on the way. Bloody hell, it's tough.

I still have my ticket, but I don't think I'll be saying it's mine for much longer, unfortunately.

Wait until you have kids....makes it all the more harder to justify. Also a helluva lot more expensive when you take them along with you. My now 12yo son has seen Bruce twice and my daughter one. In hindsight, we shouldn't have done the AAMI Park gig.

2 gigs only for me this time around, Adelaide and Hanging Rock.

Hope you still get to go to Sydney. IMHO, the Arena shows are the best. However, if you are in the pit and in the first couple of rows, all shows would probably seem the same.

It may be just me, but I don't feel anywhere near as excited this time (but I'm sure that will all change come showtime).

Well I'll be doing (both) Melbourne shows in the pit.

I want to go to Sydney so badly, but it's just so much money. The missus is fine with me going, I just don't know. Spent $800 on a suit this weekend which definitely hasn't helped in the slightest. Everything has just come at once.

The smart thing for me to do is just do the Melbourne gig(s). I am so bloody torn.

Feeling your pain.....it's virtually impossible to do the "smart thing" when it comes to these shows. It's just so very hard to get yourself to accept that shows are happening and that you won't be there.

FWIW...from 1985 to 2003 we thought he'd never come back....

I was desperate for him to do a Tunnel of Love Tour....such an underrated album by most of the BinUSA fans...saw it as a massive let down at the time IIRC but I loved it, and still do.

And from 2003 onwards....

So 3 tours in 5 years makes up for the Tours we missed out on.

Just looked at the Tickemaster site and there are lots of seats available still for Melb AAMI.

Did a dummy run and an A Ticket got me Bay 72 up on Level 3 at the back of the Arena....for $243....GAGF!

IIRC last time, AAMI Sat seating was sold out almost on the day?

And I still reckon front standing at AAMI is too large. Its almost half the area of the pitch. That's bullshit for that money.

Youll regret not going to the shows more than youll regret the $600

Spot on.

For last year's Taylor Swift gigs at AAMI Park, I had great seats in the stand for the Friday night show and even better seats on the floor for the Saturday night gig, about 15 metres from the walkway down the middle and about 30 metres from the front of the stage.

As I was taking my 10yo daughter, I thought that I would do the "smart thing" and just go on the Friday, as I was worried about how much she would be able to see from the floor and I'd also save myself the best part of $500-$600, taking into account tix and accommodation.

So I sold the tickets to the Saturday gig.

Once sold, they changed the configuration of her stage setting and brought the end of her walkway and her "B" stage all the way back down to where my original tickets were and as the aisles were quite wide and we had aisle end seats, they became nearly the best tickets in the house. We would have had no issues at all with being able to see.

TS spent an enormous amount of time at the end of the walkway and although I enjoyed the concert immensely from the stand (lower level Row E), I was absolutely kicking myself that I'd sold the seats for the following night. When she jumped on the thing that took her out of the crowd at the end, it would have been directly over us for a large proportion of Shake it Off.

I sold the tickets to a guy that I see all the time and he continues to tell me just how great the seats were and how much fun they had.

Regrets.

Can't even remember now what I did with the money that I got for the tickets.

I just texted my gf and told her I will do Sydney. We save hard and rarely splurge on ourselves.

Oh, I accept I won't be at shows. Perth, Adelaide, Bris and NZ are completely out of the question. It sucks not being there though haha.

Definitely.

Yeah, I get that its not an issue for interstate shows. I've made the decision not to go to AAMI Park, but I'll still be feeling insanely jealous as the setlist is updated on my computer screen and I'm thinking about what I'm missing out on.

I'm just extremely grateful that I'm getting to go to a couple of shows at all.

If you can afford a ticket - do it.

I will be willing to split a shit hotel room with you if you're doing roll call.

Ta...but it's more a matter of not wanting to take any more time off work. Already taking Mon-Tues off for Adelaide. If there is an extra show at AAMI on the Saturday I'll be there with bells on, but atm I'll give the Thursday show a miss and have another think about it if the second show doesn't eventuate.
